1996 Yamaha Virago 1100, 1996 Yamaha XV1100 Virago in excellent condition, 6,430 miles, $3,000 custom parts added, Cobra pipes with Cobra jets kit installed, Mustang seat, Mustang passenger backrest, Jardine forward controls, Willie and Max saddlebags and tool pouch, Memphis Shade windshield, Jardine luggage rack, pullback handlebars, pullback risers, 6 over stock front fork tubes(Forks by Frank), K&N air filter, and more. In March I changed the oil and filter plus installed new Sears Diehard sealed battery. Last month I removed the carbs. and cleaned both thoroughly plus clean both fuel tanks and sealed them with an polymer, also installed new factory gas filter at same time. Installed new spark plugs last week. Valves were adjusted approx. 500 miles ago. The bike has always been stored in my basement and covered. Looks like a brand new bike on showroom floor. The new three-event GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented by Yamaha is gaining steam as Dynojet Research has stepped up to provide sponsorship for the Pro Sportbike class. Dynojet will also have its popular dyno performance truck on-site for race support. Devised to fill an 11-week gap in professional road racing between mid-March and late May, the Superbike Shootout was inspired by the successful British Superbike Championship series.

Yamaha Files Suit Over Scooter Design

Yamaha has filed a lawsuit against a pair of Japanese companies alleging their electric scooter copies the design of the Yamaha Gear BX50 scooter. The Yamaha Gear  BX50 (pictured left above) is a 50cc four-stroke scooter sold in Japan as a commercial-use model, aimed for small business such as newspaper distributors. Yamaha has been offering the BX50 (and the BX50N variant) since 2007, selling 39,917 units as of December 2011.

What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.
