Yamaha Venture description

1983 Yamaha XVZ1200 Venture.  Runs and rides.  Good project bike or fixer upper.  This bike was a trade-in, and is being sold as is.  It starts right up, and seems to run good.  The front brakes and rear brakes work fine, as does the clutch.  We test rode it about a mile down the street, and back, and it pulls good and shift through all gears fine.  However it does pop out of 2nd gear.  All other gears are fine, but it jumps out of 2nd.  Also, the previous owner removed the speedometer/temp gauge, we don't know why.  So there is no speedometer/temp gauge installed on the bike.  Tires look good, has a newer Shinko 231 on the front and an Avon Venom on the rear

I think this will make someone a good bike with a little TLC.  I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the bike, and servicing it before starting on any road trips, as this bike has not been inspected by us, other than what is mentioned here.  Please ask any questions you have, I am happy to answer them as best I can.

Please be sure to look over all of the pictures carefully.  What you see is how the bike will come.  Clear title in hand.

James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing

Fri, 09 Sep 2011

Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.

2014 AMA Supercross – St. Louis Results

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Don’t look now, but James Stewart is the hottest rider in the AMA Supercross Championship. The Yoshimura Suzuki rider won his third consecutive race and series-leading fifth victory of the season. But with Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto holding a comfortable lead with four rounds remaining, Stewart’s hot streak may be too little too late.

MotoGP Lifts Rookie Rule, Caps Factory Prototype Entries and Adjusts Other Regulations

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

As expected, MotoGP organizers have officially lifted the rule barring rookies from racing for factory teams, but the Grand Prix Commission also tweaked some other regulations including a cap on factory prototype machines. We’ve discussed the lifting of the rookie rule already, with the main impetus being to allow a manufacturer such as Honda to sign up-and-coming Moto2 star Marc Marquez when he is expected to move up to the premiere class next season. As of Jan.
