Yamaha V Star description

2004 Yamaha V Star 1100 Custom, Great Shape - Call Austin @ (828)277-8600 Incomparable fit and finish the Star Family is famous for, with classic chopper styling and, better still, the price tag closer to most bikes half its size. The V Star 1100 Custom comes with all the chrome-plated, teardrop-tanked, low-riding, piston-pounding appeal of other V-twin mega-cruisers, but for literally thousands of dollars less. Its burly, air-cooled, 65-cubic-inch V-twin pumps out big, fat chunks of low-end torque. Drop in a smooth-shifting 5-speed transmission and low-maintenance shaft drive . And then spoon it all into a long, 64.5" wheelbase strung between wire-spoked wheels and drag-style handlebars. The timelessly beautiful V Star 1100 Custom V-twin. You just might have difficulty deciding which is more attractive: its styling or its price.

Suzuka Eight Hour capers

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Chatting to TT legend John McGuiness recently about his first Suzuka Eight Hour experience got me thinking of a few capers the boys and me managed a few years back at what is still Japan's most important race of the season. It is a unique event that starts at 11am and finishes at 7pm making  it a pukka endurance race as the last hour is run with headlights on in the dark. It is essentially an eight hour sprint that showcases the trickest endurance machinery and manufacturer’s sales can be affected the following year depending on who wins or loses.

Police Catch Up with Motorcycle Doing 185 mph in YouTube Video

Fri, 20 Apr 2012

Authorities in British Columbia, Canada, have impounded a 2006 Yamaha R1 believed to have starred in a YouTube video reaching speeds of 299 kph (185 mph) on a freeway. The onboard video, embedded after the jump, captures the Yamaha weaving through traffic, and often lane-splitting between other vehicles, covering a 4.67 mile stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway in about a minute and 56 seconds. That translates to an average speed of 144.6 mph.

WSBK 2013: Nurburgring Race Report

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.
