2004 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic, 65-cubic-inch, air-cooled, SOHC, 75° V-twin - The V Star 1100 Classic... a fully stylized big-bore cruiser priced in the ballpark where most middleweight machines usually play. Its got all the goods - a potent, 65-cubic-inch V-twin mill tuned for big low-end grunt, shaft drive, and long, 64.5 wheelbase . Full-size, valanced steel fenders, full rider floorboards and just the right amount of chrome here and there to let you know this is one polished package. Pipewerx's new Slash Cut slip-ons
Fri, 16 Sep 2011Pipe Werx, the British performance motorcycle exhaust company, has added a new product to its range – the Slash Cut Trim. Priced at only £79.95, delivered, the Slash Cut Trim easily bolts on with its supplied mounting clamp and spring to the catalytic converter in place of the heavy standard exit pipes on Yamaha’s R6 (2006-2011) and Suzuki’s GSX-R600/750 (K8, K9, L0). With the main aim of reducing weight and improving aesthetics on these machines, the Slash Cut Trim does give a marginal increase of throttle response and exhaust note.

Tue, 29 Mar 2011I’ve just got back from Donington Park and the second round of the World Superbike championship. The racing was exciting, going off without a hitch, and the weather was unseasonably kind, but the meeting will be remembered by those in the fairly close knit WSB paddock for reasons other than the temperature or the race results. It’ll be remembered by most, especially those who witnessed it, as the meeting where Max Biaggi finally lost his already feeble grip on reality.

Keeping it simple and keeping the weight down was a great recipe for success, and now Yamaha is fixin’ to take it to the next level with a Ténéré 700 Raid, for which this machine it showed at EICMA serves as prototype.
