Josh Hayes Wins Fourth AMA Superbike Title

Say what you will about the depleted state of the American roadracing scene, it shouldn’t diminish the fact Hayes put in the effort and beat some formidable challengers to the title. Here, the AMA congratulates Josh Hayes on his accomplishment. Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief

Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.

Yamaha Motor Europe asked three of the world’s top builders to work their magic on the company’s flagship power cruiser, the VMax. America’s Roland Sands, Germany’s Marcus Walz and Ludovic Lazareth of France each set to work and create three different interpretations on the Yamaha VMax. These “Hyper Modified” custom Yamaha VMax models were unveiled at Yamaha’s stand at the EICMA show earlier this month, and we placed them at #4 on our Top 10 EICMA Show Bikes You May Have Missed list.
