Yamaha V Max description
***UPDATE*** I know how it is buying a vehicle on eBay sight unseen, I got burned on a Jeep I picked up in Ohio years ago. I do intend on added more photos so you can better evaluate the bike, I have not been home to really detail it the way I would like, that is the reason for the delay. I did however upload a video I took of the bike a few days ago so you can hear it run and maybe get a better look at it. The VIDEO link should be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBa98cjoYh0 if that is not working search sky-onproductions 1995 v max for sale and it should come up "the sounds of the v max" is in the title As Paul Harvey would say now the rest of the story... My son bought this bike in the spring from the master mechanic mentioned below, knowing that there was a possible issue with a valve and one of the carbs was messed up. The price was in his low budget and the repairs were estimated to be around $1200. Long story short... the bike was in the shop for 3 months, my son's job took him out of state. He left before the bike was done, I bought it from him for what he put in it, and I paid for the repair which turned out to be $1400 more than the original quote. At the time I was going to pay a portion of the bill as I had them replace items that could have been rebuilt (hence the clutch and brake cylinders), after all it was for my son's safety. I am too intimidated/maybe getting too old to ride, although the V-Max was on my list of wants thru the years I have to let it go... This Vmax was purchased from a master mechanic (that probably put at least
$2000 in it last year, I have his contact info and can pass it along), and it
just had $2600 (with receipt) worth of work completed by the two of the best
mechanics in the area. Nothing was overlooked and no corners were cut. |

EICMA 2013: 2014 Yamaha MT-07 First Impressions – Video
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Fun, affordable, and exciting transportation are what many motorcyclists care about. Sportbikes are great and all, but if we’re honest, they’re a bit impractical. So when Yamaha introduced the MT-07 at EICMA this year, we took notice.
Recall for 2011 Yamaha FJR1300
Mon, 11 Jul 2011Yamaha is initiating a recall campaign the 2011 FJR1300, just a week after a separate recall for the 2006-2009 versions of the sport touring motorcycle. Like the earlier campaign, the recall for the 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 is for an electrical issue, this time for the brake lights. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, brake light on affected units may not illuminate when the front brake lever is applied because the activating mechanism in the brake switch can bind.
BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates
Tue, 03 Jan 2012In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.
