Yamaha V Max tech info
Yamaha V Max description
I bought this bike brand new from the dealership in March 1988 and have only put 17454 miles on it. It has always been garage kept and properly maintained. I still love the bike, but am selling it because I have back problems. I rebuilt the carburetors and brake and clutch cylinders and replaced the original brake and clutch lines with Hel brand lines about 4 years ago. I put an Optima battery in it about 3 years ago (and highly recommend them). The Metzler tires are about 2 years old.
The seat is a Corbin Canyon Dual Sport seat, a high-quality American-made seat that is much more comfortable than the original (which I have saved and am including with the bike -- the original seat is in near-new condition). The Corbin seat is black with red welting. I have added a few custom touches on the bike. I am a professional machinist, and I designed and made the scoop grill inserts, the low-profile convex washers that hold the Corbin seat on, and the honeycomb-pattern grilles on the back of the radiator housing. The original grilles and original style retaining rings are included in the sale. Other extras included with the motorcycle are a Tracy Wild One Fairing, in near-new condition; a King Cobra motorcycle alarm which would have to be reinstalled by the new owner (though the light is still mounted just below the tachometer); battery tender; and a bit of leftover oil. There is some slight paint scratching and surface corrosion on the aluminum surface due to the age of the bike -- see photos. It has not been mistreated and has never been crashed. I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. The bike is located in Gaithersburg, MD, about 20 miles from Washington DC, 5 minutes from Interstate I-270. You are welcome to come and inspect the bike. |

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Review – First Ride
Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
Bolt Headlines Returning 2015 Models From Star & Yamaha
Thu, 05 Jun 2014With all the excitement focused on the FZ-07′s stateside introduction, let us not forget these equally important models returning to Star’s and Yamaha’s 2015 lineup: the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec, the street-legal WR250R, XT250 and TW200, and the Blu Cru MXers; the 2-stroke YZ85/125/250, and 4-stroke YZ250F/450F. Bolt Like the FZ-09′s success, the Bolt is a smash hit for Star Motorcycles. So good, in fact, Star says the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec have been the best selling metric cruisers in all displacement sizes for the last 12 months ending in April of this year.
1.5litre V8 two-stroke
Thu, 21 Apr 2011I don't know about you but I've yet to ride anything with two wheels and an engine that I didn't enjoy in one form or another. From minimotos to 1800 Goldwings, there's always some fun to be had even if it is just the novel experience that makes you grin. I am not one for a pidgeonhole, that's for sure.
