Yamaha TT description

Up for auction is my STREET LEGAL 2005 Yamaha TTR-230.. I bought this bike like 5 years ago, and for the most part it sat in my dads living room, I came back from college this past year, and did all the work to it mainly. I took it on the trails only a few times ever. Then it sat while i was at college inside my dads.

I made it street legal and got it titled street legal with a baja designs street legal package, and dot tires several years ago, and then it just sat inside. Which is rare to to in Illinois, its a custom vehicle. It gets about 100 mpgs, and is still quick, I changed the final drive on it went up one or two teeth in the from, and went down nine teeth in the back, Final drive was like 4.8 stock, and now its in the 2s. which give you alot more top speed, i never take it over 60, i been meaning to put on a helmet and take it down the highway and open it up, but i ride so little with a helmet i just stay off the way. I teach motorcycle rider saftey school to.

Note i did not uncork, or ever race the bike. I did just put the new exhaust on, and you could rejet to give it more fuel, and make it way faster, but i like it how it is, reliable as hell, and i can always just fire it up, and go where ever i want, i have a few lil cruise routes i do, about a hr to 2 hrs long on the road, and i never use more than a gallon of gass round trip,,

So all in all most of the work done to the bike was done this past year while i was sitting around being back from school. buncha stuff was just done in the last 2 weeks

Last 2 weeks
Big gun evo full exhaust including header,, adds to performance definitely sounds more basey like a Harley 800 installed
Thick aluminum skid plate on bottom definitely adds to stability 120 installed
new street tires went fat on the rear like 5" lol its pretty sweet 200 installed
new gas cap 40
chain guard 60
new aluminum hand bars 60
oil change and filter 15
so just about 1300 put in

other stuff done past year
wrapped in a decal kit with parts from a extra kit 200
custom dash about 100
r1 carbon mirrors 20
carbon hand gaurds 40
KEY IGNITION 40
skull led switch on dash 5   was used for a stereo but i took that off
flame grips with skull ends 12
new chain on it 50
sprockets on it 150  also stock rear 40 on it now you can change them if you want
painted rims and some of frame
baja designs street legal package 550
replaced 05 forks with 09 forks just because i needed to redo seals and got a deal 400
have extra set of turn signals carbond leds ones i didnt put on yet, but was thinking about it because i melted rear turn alil with new exhaust still works fine tho, 40
extra blue o ring chain, and blue 48t sprocket both new like 150
barb wire linces plate frame, and skull wheel chromes like 20 for both
SO thats about another 1800 dollars

So thats about 3000 worth of stuff not including the bike
also note me making this street legal cost me a few hundred dollars

Insurance is about 70 a year for me not full coverage, progressive will do full coverage and cover extra stuff done for a few hundred a year,

I opened the carb and cleaned it up pretty good, same with the air filer a few months ago,
Theres alil oil coming out by the header, very little supposivly because i should put bigger carbs in, i like it being nice and reliable like it is, and good on gass, its plenty fast like it is, only reason why i didnt do the carbs yet,

To be clear i never technically uncorked the bike, it has the exhaust so the rest is basically free to do or cheap, but i like it how it is,
street tires make it crazy fun, it had good handling to begin with now, you can lean, and go fast thtough corners if you wanted to, very fun,

Its definetly ready to drive, and have a blast playing with it... if your reading this now remember to run it on primium, other wise it will idol funny, its supposed to be ran on 91, but now all the gass stations sell 93, so i been running that and i like it,

Only few things that i kinda wanted to still do to the bike was  step seat kit,  paint rear swing arm( only dirty part on the bike really from chain oil etc) prob do carbs, dont need to be done tho,
As far as uncorking goes, i read alot about it, you change fuel ratio by drilling out a hole to get to the screw, and put new jets in , and supposilvy it makes it like 40 percent faster right there,
the big gun exhaust is supposed to give like a 5 hp addition, and i bet you will get all that if you recarb, and it would be like twice as fast,
im 5,11 over 200 lbs, and enjoy riding it around, not super aggressive either,
i am sure if you buy this for your kid or teen they will be crazy happy,
this yamaha could possibly last like it is 20 years, not joking, why you buy a good brand like yamaha, i wanted to keep it forever as my little toy but none the less i need money to start selling things online again so i dont have to go get a job,

I am in Lynwood Illinois 30 mins south of Chicago, right on the Indiana border.. close to 294 394 94 area, or Atlantis strip club if you guys know about that

if you went to buy a wr 250, you might pay 5-7k just saying this bike started off as a ttr-230, and now it really is a custom street legal motorcycle, i never really take it over 60, but it could prob go over 100 if you got the balls lol.  reason why i put the smallest sprocket in the back available and went up like 1 in the front, i know you can go up like 1 or 2 more in the front if you want, but i didn't wanna squeeze a bigger one in there. its a 4 stoke, and requires low maintain, is reliable,  also nice thing about that gearing you don't have to shift super fast you can ride the gears longer.
has newer battery

Cost new was about 3600,, not to mention the other 3000 plus put into it  all together about 6600 plus extra labor etc
electric start is equip no kik start at all, that's how it comes stock, i seen you can add one if you wanted

little extra parts i have for if you can just have with the sale, i do have a few other auctions up for the extra set of forks etc if you want that stuff to, they are on there very cheap good to have extra parts, this bikes fun, but it is newer, and all the extras are not cheap, and it is not a cheap bike, its durable, and ready to last, some 2 strokes you might have to replace stuff all the time,, this things ready to ride all the time, and basically never need to replace stuff often, you can download the manual online for how to work on it, and there's parts catalogs etc, i don't think you will be seeing such a good deal on ebay for a dirt bike anytime soon, i should be able to ask 5k for it, but here is you chance to get it for the highest bid,,, kinda unsure what i want it to start at but im going to start it at 2500, so please ask any questions bid, and god bless, i am here basically all the time  so if you message me, make sure you keep messaging me thorough eBay, just saying if you try to use my email it might get lost in spam,
Im going to do a 300 dollar deposit at the end of the auction, if you have any issues with that let me know, i am going to have to pay fees, so that 300 will be covering that, thats why its not negotiable really. please let me know if you want to see the bike
i want cash, to get my home business going, only reason i am selling this, i like it for being so cheap to ride, i can put 10 bux in the tank and ride it all week, basically,
gas tank is 2.2 gal, after you use the first gal you have to turn on the reserve, just so you know keep it filled up. i usually never let it get under a gal left,
warms right up, and if you come see it know that you have to warm bikes up before they run 10-15 mins or what ever,
You can tho on this bike jump on pull the choke if its cold start it and just ride it if you want, but its recomended you warm it up alil,, if it was warm at all that day typically you can just press start and your off,

it really is a great bike,

nothing wrong with it, primo condition, will spit alil oil at your leg so wear pants, next owner prob should do the carb and uncork it make it twice as fast, and send me a pic of them doing wheelies

reason they "corked" it is emissions, and those standards are not even for the road, they really tune down how much fuel it uses stock and to pass cali emmisions

but if you adjust the fuel ratio screw, and put new jets in  you can be like those guys on youtube riding wheelies for long periods of time, as it is, now also im a big guy im surprised me when i pull the front wheel of the ground, but it does,, accidentally rode a wheelie through a intersection the other day, but none the less carb kit 50 bux easy to put in or 5 bux, and just do the jets,,

ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE if you dont know a lot about bikes youtube is great for watching videos and getting things done, any thing you could need to do to this bike, you can watch how to's on there and you should be ok,, same if you dont have alot of tools 10mm and 8mm a philips, seems to be about all i ever used on it

So once again please ask me any questions bid, and god bless,

Also new tubes was like 50 buxs
All sales final being sold, "as is"
The last picture is alil old its before new exhaust and new tires but its nice pic so i added it
Partial trades considered, But i mainly need the cash

How To Rebuild a Yamaha R6 In Under A Minute + Video

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

If you’re new to the road racing scene, you might have heard the terms “Factory” and “Privateer.” For the casual observer, you’ll notice the difference between the two ultimately comes down to money and support, as one is likely working out of the back of their van while the other is supported by an 18-wheeler. This video, shot by the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team makes the line between the two sides clear as day. Watch as the Yamaha crew rebuilds Garrett Gerloff’s R6 from the frame up after a nasty crash with enough time to make the race.
