Yamaha Royal Star description

PRICE REDUCED!  COMPARE TO OTHERS!!!  This bike is in beautiful condition and runs great.  Color is pearl white.  Extremely low mileage at just over 10,069.  Inspected through July, 2016.  Asking $6,000, but, would accept a reasonable offer.  Selling due to knee issues and have difficulty riding.  I have owned the bike since 2012 and have always kept it in the garage.  Battery was replaced last year.  Windshield and saddle bags can be removed for a lower profile appearance.  Small nicks low on saddle bags was all I could find.  Original manual included.

Yamaha R1 rider lowsides on left-hander

Tue, 23 Mar 2010

THIS GUY'S lucky he doesn't get flicked over the top, after losing the back end of his Yamaha YZF-R1 on a twisty section of mountain road. He looks pretty miffed at the result; we think he got away lightly. It could have been soooo much worse if the rear tyre had gripped and lobbed the rider over the top.

Live from the launch of the Yamaha FZ8

Sun, 18 Apr 2010

THAT, MY FRIENDS, is our test rider's transportation to the 2010 Yamaha FZ8 launch in Marseille. Today, Jon Urry will endure 700 miles in a bazzed-up Ford Transit with other UK bike journalists, thanks to the infamous cloud of volcanic ash that's turning our skies a worrying shade of crystal-clear blue. So check back later for Jon's updates on their progress to southern France.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
