In a year that saw Yamaha riders James Stewart, Valentino Rossi, and Ben Spies capture the perfect “trifecta” of World Championships, perhaps one of the most memorable moments for race fans around the world, was “King” Kenny Roberts’ return ride at the infamous Indy Mile in late August. As a year end surprise, Yamaha is pleased to offer race fans around the world a video of this monumental occasion. McCarthy’s wit isn’t as quick as his motorcycle. “A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” (Proverbs 12:23 KJV)   According to reports, New York State Police arrested Nikkolaus McCarthy, 25, of Charlton, N.Y., this past Wednesday afternoon after he was “clocked” riding his motorcycle at 166 mph on the New York State Thruway in Ravena, N.Y. But it seems McCarthy needs to learn the simple concept of avoiding self-incrimination.

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.
