Yamaha Raider description

2013 Yamaha Raider, Star Motorcycles Stryker With its raked-out front end and fists in the wind riding position, the Stryker is pure attitude. 2013 Star Motorcycles Stryker
With its raked-out front end and fists in the wind riding position, the Stryker is pure attitude. And the rest of the chopper-inspired Raider is pure Star quality, designed and engineered by the world s best bike builders. Features
The Raider was inspired by the custom chopper movement, but since it s a Star, it had to also handle, stop and go.
A 6-degree yoke angle the first ever on a street-legal Star Motorcycle makes it possible to achieve that custom look as well as neutral handling and straight-line cruisability: 33-degree rake plus 6 degrees yoke angle gives total rake of 39 degrees and 102mm of trail.
Custom 5-spoke wheels carry a 120/70-21-inch bias tire up front, and a wide, 210/40-18 radial out back the tallest and widest ever on a Star.
Estimated 42 mpg* means this cruiser can go the distance between fill-ups.
Clutch has light, easy-pull operation 20% less effort at the lever than before.
Left-thumb operated high-beam switch, and right-thumb activated accessory driving light switch for great visibility.
Jewel-like fit and finish, and Star quality paint, chrome and attention to detail are evident all over the Raider.
Cool, tank-mounted instrumentation complements the custom look, and contains analog speedometer and fuel gauge, along with twin digital tripmeters, odometer and self-diagnostics.
Bright multireflector headlight, LED taillight and amber turn signals behind clear lenses give a custom look.
02 sensor and three-way catalyst reduce emissions.

Ienatsch, Hill, Russell, Bestwick To Give Speech At Yale Today

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

In what might be considered the most shocking news of 2014 so far, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill are going to Yale. While some might think the Chief and Lead instructors at the newly revamped Yamaha Champions Riding School are getting in over their heads, the two are at Yale as lead presenters for “Excellence In Motion: What Motorcycle Racing Can Teach Us About Success,” which begins at 4pm (local time) today.  When put into context, their appearance at one of the nation’s top schools is understandable. Each has had their fair share of success aboard motorcycles, and they will be joined by two more champions on two-wheels, five-time Daytona 200 winner and 1993 World Superbike Champion Scott Russell, and Jamie Bestwick, an avid motorcyclist and winner of eight consecutive X-Games BMX Vert gold medals.

Graves Yamaha AMA Racer Injured in Scooter Accident

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

Motorcycle racers recognize they compete in a dangerous sport, risking serious harm in a crash. Of course, all riders know about the risks, whether they’re on a race track or on the street. Still it seems odd to hear Daytona Sportbike racer Cameron Beaubier broke his knee cap and injured his wrist crashing a 50cc scooter on the street.
