Yamaha RZV description

For Sale 1985 RZV500

If your looking at this ad then you already know what you want so I'm not going to list all the technical stuff for this bike you can look that up online. I have had this RZV500 for 12 years. I ride it about a 100 miles a year and put it away. It runs and rides great. Starts easy I have done nothing with the motor since I bought it just changed oil and tires that's about it. I did add the Lomas pipes and changed jetting the pipes are mild steel. The stock pipes will be included.

I am not an RZ Geek just someone who likes to ride 2 stroke on the road so I might not be able to answer all technical questions but I will try. As far as the condition it does have some cracking in the body work some mild oxidation in  areas. About everything you could expect for an unrestored 31 year old bike. The one thing I did notice on my last ride is the directional will go on but not flash that is something I have not looked in too. Other than that everything functions as it should. If you need more photos of something specific I will be happy to provide them.

I will not ship this bike out of this country and I will not consider trades. The bike is sold as is. I will post a short video of it running shortly just waiting for the rain to stop. It is your responsibility to provide shipping. I do not crate. I will deliver it up to a 100 mile radius but that's it. Last bike I sold the buyer used u-ship and it worked great.

Thanks for looking.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

Yamaha to Open Plant in Pakistan

Thu, 04 Aug 2011

Yamaha is reportedly planning to open a new manufacturing facility in Pakistan. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Yamaha would invest $150 million in the new 50 acre facility, to be located in Karachi, Pakistan’s main seaport and financial hub. The plant would produce motorcycles for the Pakistani market, as well as models to be exported to other Commonwealth of Independent States nations.
