Yamaha RD400 description

1977 Yamaha RD400 cycle up for auction. We picked a few bikes to part out but felt that this would make someone a good restoration or cafe racer project. First I do NOT have a title but can provide a bill of sale if needed. Also, as of right now I do not have a key. This was packed away for many years and will need the usual battery, gas, carb clean etc to get running. I have noticed that the brakes are not working and calipers are loose on the cycle. Carbs and air box off but included. The engine turns over nicely and when kicked over 3 times the right cylinder has 110 lbs and left has 120 lbs compression. I do not have the key so I cannot tell you if it will spark or not. Rear fender looks cut off and taillight is off something else. Has all the usual rust that a bike sitting has, seat is torn, tank has a couple dents. Inside the tank I do not know as, again no key. This is NOT a running bike, it is a project for someone. I have too much going on otherwise I would keep it. Starting bid is the lowest I will take for the bike so please do NOT send offers!!! Please ask questions and I will try my best to answer. Local pick up is preferred, any shipping is sole responsibility of the buyer. Cash on pick up will be method of payment, a $100 deposit is required within 24 hours thru Paypal. If planning to use Paypal for full payment you will pay the extra 3% fee to use it. Anyone is welcome to come view the bike in person Monday thru Friday 10am to 5pm at 3271 Central Ave, Dubuque IA 52001

Teaser: 2012 Japanese Literbike Shootout – Video

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

Day 3 Dakar 2014: Barreda Maintains Overall Lead, Despres Catches Up

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

Joan Barreda won his second special stage this year and now boasts a lead of more than 13 minutes over Cyril Despres and Marc Coma, the two other beneficiaries of a particularly decisive stage. Today’s stage, part one of the first marathon stage with no team service, was characterized by the highest ever racing altitude in Dakar history. Facing the 22,841 foot summit of the Aconcagua, South America´s highest mountain, the motorcycle riders had to cross a pass over 14,107 feet in elevation in trial-like conditions.

Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Finally Coming to US for 2024

Thu, 06 Apr 2023

Sport-tourer equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control Last November, Yamaha Motor Europe revealed a new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA, a new version of its Triple-powered sport tourer equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, adaptive cruise control, and a radar-linked unified braking system. Yamaha Motor USA, however, remained quiet about it, and we later learned the Tracer 9 GT+ was not coming to the States for 2023. In fact, even the less techy regular Tracer 9 was left out of Yamaha Motor USA’s returning model announcements.
