I have for sale my fully restored 1972 Yamaha R5 for sale. This is a fairly rare motorcycle, made for three years. This is the precursor to the Yamaha RD350. This is a very unique 350cc two stroke, and is quite fun to ride.
Specifics: • Frame off rebuild • Frame repaint • All body panels/tank repainted blue (non-original, but very nice) • All original badging • All chrome fully polished including wheels • Forks/drum brakes polished as well • New battery • New foam, and seat cover with passenger strap • New tires with about 150 miles • New wheel bearings • New chain • NOS rear sprocket • Fully rebuilt carbs • Engine was disassembled and all crank seals were replaced. Internals were in great shape • New plugs • New coils from HVC cycle There may be a few specifics I'm forgetting at this point; however, this bike has been fully gone through and works great. I found this in a pile of boxes a little over a year ago, and it was my full intention to enjoy restoring this beauty, and putting it up for sale - and my fiance is making sure I stick to the original plan. Thu, 22 Nov 2012Yamaha have proved once again that all-black bikes never fail to please, this is the Japan-only R1 supplied to you by Yamaha if you're going to be racing in the All-Japan Superbike Championship. So that'll be none of us getting one of these, then. The good news: you can choose between an R1 or an R6, they're supplied black and with a racing ECU and loom.
2013 AMA Daytona 200 Race Report
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Cameron Beaubier led a parade of Yamaha YZF-R6 racebikes to win the 72nd running of the famed Daytona 200. The Yamaha Extended Service Graves Yamaha rider started from pole position and led for 50 of 57 laps before winning by a 22.254-second margin. Behind Beaubier were four other R6 riders including his teammate Garret Gerloff who finished second.
Yamaha Trademarks YZF-R3
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Yamaha has filed for a trademark with the European Union for the names “YZF-R3” and “R3“. The trademark applications were filed Jan. 6 and are still under review, but once approved, we should expect Yamaha to introduce a new YZF-R3 soon after.
