AMA Supercross: 2012 Atlanta Results

Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak was snapped, KTM scored its second series win and Cole Seely impressed as an injury replacement for Trey Canard as the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship landed in Atlanta, Ga. Racing for the American Honda Muscle Milk team, Seely nabbed the holeshot and led the opening seven laps before finally being overtaken by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey. Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto had a poor start by his standards, finishing the first lap in sixth place.

As fast as Colin Edwards is on the track, the Texas Tornado may be even quicker behind a microphone. We saw some of that last year in the Yamaha-produced “Man-Cation” video with Edwards and his then-Tech 3 teammate Ben Spies, and Edwards can always be relied upon for a good quote at press conferences. Yamaha Champions Riding School Returns To NJMP

Good news for those saddened to hear the Yamaha Champions Riding School would not return to Miller Motorsports Park in 2014: the school is back, now operating from New Jersey Motorsports Park. The change in venue doesn’t come without a slight change in the instructor lineup. Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill will still lead the way, joined by Mr. Daytona himself, Scott Russell, but a new addition to the star-studded instructor lineup has also been added: none other than Larry Pegram.
