Ride Laguna Seca with King Kenny Roberts and Steady Eddie Lawson

Kenny Roberts and Eddie Lawson will join up to 200 fans in riding Laguna Seca July 22 during the U.S. Grand Prix. Fans purchasing a special weekend ticket promotional package from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will have opportunity to ride several laps with the two former World Champions.

The Catalina Grand Prix was last run in 1958 on Santa Catalina Island, an island community situated approximately 22 miles south-southwest of greater Los Angeles. Efforts by the AMA, AMA District 37, Big6 (a smaller collection of clubs within the D-37 region) and promotional company My Cuz Vinnie Promotions LLC, have secured December 3-5, 2010 as dates for the event, with a 100-mile professional race held on the 5th. Stoner explains the tank slapper

Casey Stoner looked all set to win at Motegi, after translating his pole position into an early race-lead. But coming over the crest on the back straight his bike momentarily lost control in a tank slapper. Regaining composure the championship leader was forced to pump his brakes to get the pads back in place, with the rear-wheel bouncing in the air he ran out of time and space to make the 90 degree right hander and was forced to run into the gravel.
