The Yamaha DragStar 950 (also known as the V Star 950 and the XVS950-XVS950A Midnight Star) is a cruiser motorcycle. It was introduced in 2009 with a base MSRP of US$7,890. The DragStar 950 has a 942 cc, fuel injected V-twin engine. It produces approx 50 horsepower. The cruiser is equipped with a a 5 gear manual featuring a multi-plate wet clutch and final belt drive. Although designed as an entry-level cruiser motorcycle, it will handle shorter and longer tours with ease. AMA Supercross: 2012 Arlington Results
Tue, 21 Feb 2012Defending champion Ryan Villopoto won his third consecutive AMA Supercross race in Arlington, Texas, but the victory was overshadowed by a season-ending injury suffered by one of his main challengers Chad Reed. TwoTwo Motorsport Honda‘s Reed trailed Villopoto in second place for the first six laps at Cowboys Stadium. Disaster struck on Lap 7 however as Reed crashed hard in the whoops.

Ben Spies Signs Contract Extension with Yamaha
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Yamaha has signed Ben Spies to a one-year contract extension to continue racing on its MotoGP factory team in 2012. The extension comes after Spies, currently seventh in the Championship standings, recorded his first podium finish of the 2011 season, a third place result at Catalunya. Spies earned two other podium finishes in 2010 in his Rookie of the Year winning debut in the class with the Tech 3 satellite team.
