2007 Yamaha Star Venture XVZ1300, Yamaha significantly re-designed the Royal Star engine specifically for use in the Venture tourer. The result is a classically-styled tourer with modern, powerful engine performance. Yamaha claims 98 horsepower and 89 foot pounds of torque are delivered by the 79 cubic inch (1294cc) liquid-cooled, double overhead cam, 70 degree v-four engine in the Venture. Put to the test on the road, this engine delivers with effortless power and torque to move the luxury tourer along at a pace unmatched by any production v-twin cruiser/tourer. Fri, 19 Jul 2013Prior to arriving at Laguna Seca for this weekend’s MotoGP race, nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi made a stop at Yamaha’s U.S. headquarters in Southern California for a meet-and-greet with his fans, and we were there to see The Doctor, along with Tech 3 Yamaha stablemate Bradley Smith, in person. As part of the trip, fans had a chance to participate in a Q&A session with the champ, where Rossi picked 12 questions at random.

Fri, 24 Jun 2011This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.
46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012
Mon, 25 Nov 2013An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.
