Yamaha Other description

1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim, Mechanic's Special! Here's a chance to get on two wheel without breaking the bank! If you like to tinker and get your hands dirty, this 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim is an excellent project. This Maxim is in running condition, but could use a few things to pass PA inspection, most notably is a new rear tire and a clutch lever. The intake boots also have some cracks from the rubber being dried out, and the gas cap doesn't seal completely. As shown in the photos, it does have some oxidation on the engine cases, and there is some rust here and there, but for its age and mileage (just over 24,000 miles), that's to be expected. Stop by our Service Department to get a fresh set of tires installed, and you could ride it home!

Ben Bostrom Events

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Ex-racer Ben Bostrum might have stopped competing on motorcycles, but he hasn't given up his passion for two wheels. He's teamed up with motorsports promoter M1 to create Ben Bostrom Events, a company that plans to host world-class cycling and running races across the US. According to a press release, the high-intensity events will feature an 'entertainment-filled atmosphere', combining many of the familiar elements found at other MOB (mud, obstacles, beer) racing events.

NO IT'S NOT an illusion: you're looking at the 1981 Yamaha OW53, ridden by double World Champion Barry Sheene in the first three rounds of the '81 500GP championship. The bike's owner, aircraft engineering entrepreneur Chris Wilson, has lent the £100,000 GP machine to Visordown for our stand at this year's NEC Motorcycle Show - 27th November to 6th December 2009. Sheene raced the bike in the 1981 championship, where he finished fourth at Salzburgring, sixth at Hockenheim and third at Monza.

Motorcyclist Nabbed For Going 166 MPH on NY Thruway

Fri, 04 May 2012

McCarthy’s wit isn’t as quick as his motorcycle. “A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” (Proverbs 12:23 KJV)   According to reports, New York State Police arrested Nikkolaus McCarthy, 25, of Charlton, N.Y., this past Wednesday afternoon after he was “clocked” riding his motorcycle at 166 mph on the New York State Thruway in Ravena, N.Y. But it seems McCarthy needs to learn the simple concept of avoiding self-incrimination.
