Yamaha Other description

Recently built and completed in July 2013. Taken down to the bare frame. Completely smoothed out. Very clean. All new parts: - tires, front and rear brakes, wheel bearings, neck bearings, fork seals, stage 3 jetted carburetors, individual pod air filters, all fluids and filters, battery, lights, paint, exhaust, mirrors, horn, grips, gaskets, wiring, inside of fuel tank is clean, powdercoated wheels, 12v car charging port for your yuppie smart phone, etc. Bike has been completely gone through. Starts right up no problem, even on a cold morning. Shifts great. Everything works as it should, speedometer, lights, etc. Nasty loud exhaust with cute little blue flames.

I put the ammo cans (for storage). The cans and brackets come on and off easily, with no sign of ever being present.

Yamaha 650cc 4cyl engine. Shaft drive. Completely smoothed out DOM tubing hardtail frame. All welds grinded smoothed, body worked, primed, sanded, again, and painted.  Custom fenders, lights, seat, tank, etc. Legally titled as a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 650 (which is what this bike started out as in July in stock, ridable form). All street legal, including mirror and horn. Up to date/recent IL title in my name

Fast, Loud, & Exciting bike to ride. Not for the faint of heart or softies. Gets lots of looks and compliments everywhere it is taken.

I just got back from taking it to Colorado. I rode it up Pike's Peak and Mount Evans with no problems. High elevation tested baby!!!

Serious inquires only.  Please ask legitimate questions.  Additional pictures available upon request.

This is for sale locally as well.  The seller has the right to remove this add at any time.  First come, first serve.

2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 Video Featuring Ben Spies

Mon, 26 Sep 2011

Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

We’ve posted several articles over the past few months about the inaugural American International Motorcycle Expo (AIME) because the motorcycling public is invited to attend what looks like an industry/trade show. And we’re not the only ones excited to check it out. Kenny Roberts, perhaps the best-known American motorcycle racer of all time, has signed on to the AIME show as “American International Motorcycle Champion.” In this role, Roberts will serve as the proverbial face of AIMExpo, joining in the celebration of the inaugural show with the entire powersports marketplace – industry, trade, media and consumers.

Honda and Yamaha each offered aid to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan which struck the Philippines earlier this month. Initial estimates put the death tool at over 10,000 but Philippine President Benigno Aquino says the actual number maybe closer to 2,500. Still, the United Nations says more than 11 million people were affected by the typhoon, with about 673,000 displaced from their homes.
