Yamaha Other description

It started out life as a classic powerful XS650. Now it's a mean, low and comfortable chopper.
It Rides smooth on the Michelin Marathon tires. Sounds great with the custom exhaust. From lengthened front forks to the strong custom rear swing arm, this bike is both beautiful and completely functional.

Custom lowered frame
Longer front fork tubes
Stainless steel front brake line
Custom high and low beam
Custom gauges that are accurate
Custom rear swing arm
Custom rear subframe that has battery and regulator/rectifier enclosed
Custom rear fender that protects from the large rear tire
Custom forward controls that are nicely built and adjustable
Custom tank that has been sealed
Custom headers
Custom mufflers with removable baffles
Custom seat with professional foam and cover
Custom rear turn signals built into the rear subframe
Custom brake and running lights
K&N style air filters
New needles, seats, jets etc
Longer control cables
Custom front turn signals
Comfortable passenger pegs that match the front pegs

She starts right up and runs well. Brakes stop you quickly, and it handles remarkably well. The seat height is very low as is the center of gravity. It is geared very tall, (low highway RPM) as you can see from the small rear sprocket. The welds are strong and look good.
It has a single small dent in the tank (pictured) and very few imperfections (scratches) on the tank.  The mileage is what is reflected on the odometer. the front fender has 2 very small dings from a headlight that is no longer on the bike. I would help crate for a fee to be determined and agreed upon. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will help in any way I can. This bike is very nice. It has very minor imperfections. I've tried to list it as honestly as possible.
Have any other questions?

Its for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. No warranty is implied or given.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.

Pipewerx's new Slash Cut slip-ons

Fri, 16 Sep 2011

Pipe Werx, the British performance motorcycle exhaust company, has added a new product to its range – the Slash Cut Trim. Priced at only £79.95, delivered, the Slash Cut Trim easily bolts on with its supplied mounting clamp and spring to the catalytic converter in place of the heavy standard exit pipes on Yamaha’s R6 (2006-2011) and Suzuki’s GSX-R600/750 (K8, K9, L0). With the main aim of reducing weight and improving aesthetics on these machines, the Slash Cut Trim does give a marginal increase of throttle response and exhaust note.

Yamaha Announces MT-10 And MT-10 SP For 2022

Mon, 22 Nov 2021

This news should come as a surprise to nobody, but it’s still equally as exciting to finally get the official confirmation: Yamaha is bringing an updated MT-10 to the US. Maybe more exciting is the announcement that Yamaha is also bringing an MT-10 SP here as well. We reported earlier this month that a new MT-10 was coming, but at the time, the report was only confirmed for Europe.
