Yamaha FZR1000 description

1992 fzr1000 with only 18047 miles which has been properly stored its whole life. Numbers matching and all stock except for the Carbon-Tec slip on muffler and Dynojet stage 1 jet kit.
Starts easily, runs and shifts properly. Was originally purchased in Arizona and had 2 owners over 20 years in that state making me the 3rd owner. This is an excellent well cared for and properly
maintained example of an iconic original super bike.

Mechanical-electrical

*chain and sprockets new @ 17k
*carbs ultrasonicly cleaned-synched-with new intake boots @17k
*fork seals and oil replaced @17k
*michelin pilot tires with about 1200 miles on them
*upper radiator hose/thermostat/coolant replaced this summer with oe Yamaha parts. The original hose had a very small leak. Runs at proper temp.with no leaks.
*all guages, signals, switches, horn etc...in original untouched condition and work properly
*Carbon Tec exhaust added by previous owner with original headers and EXUP intact.

Cosmetic-

*paint shines almost like new-no dents in gas tank
   *original seat in excellent shape
*fairings in great shape-left side panel has tiny chip missing-see pic-graphics are good to excellent-right lower graphics show minor wear for 25 year old bike.
*seat cowl was not original to bike. I searched for 2 years to find a good one. Its color matched perfect with a painted stripe(original is a decal) tail housing and stripe was
also repainted at this time. Looks great. Cowl cost me 275 plus 300 for paint!
   *handlebar switches-gauges have no fading
*rear wheel has misc scratches that appear to have happened when tire was put on-grrrrrrr!!!

This has been a fair weather bike rode around 750 miles a year to my knowledge. It has incredible power easily lifts the front tire and is not for an inexperienced rider. Suspension is tight with no noises. Just a wonderful example of a high end rider/collector bike with (my opinion) the best best color combo.
Owners and service manual included with purchase as well as original tool kit and tender lead.
Had a lot of fun with this bike. It is priced right to pass on to next collector/owner.
I will mention again that this bike is ready to ride and is not need of servicing as many of these different  bikes that are for sale on ebay that look good but...fzr1000s can be expensive to get dialed in.

Day 2 Dakar 2014: Sunderland Wins First Special Stage

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

Honda won the second day of competition with Team HRC’s Sam Sunderland claiming victory in the first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Sunderland has had a frustrating time at previous Dakars, dropping out after three days of racing in 2012 and withdrawing a month before last year’s event due to fracturing both his wrists. Today, however, Sunderland made a grand entrance into the club of elite riders by brilliantly winning his first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Having started well behind his teammate, Joan Barreda, the 23-year old Brit superbly overtook Michael Metge and Juan Pedrero on the first part of the route.
