It combines a compact 998cc, 20-valve engine tuned for tremendous mid-range with sculpted bodywork, comfortable riding position and adjustable suspension that conquers everything from urban assault to track the days to sport touring. Narrow-angle five-valve combustion chambers produce a highly efficient 11.5:1 compression ratio. Carburized connecting rods with fracture split big ends produce a quick-revving engine with excellent high-rpm durability. High silicon-content ceramic-composite cylinder lining reduces friction and maximizes heat dissipation for consistent power delivery. Four-into two-into one short-style exhaust system with Exhaust Ultimate Power valve (EXUP), a stainless catalizer and 02 sensor. Delivers outstanding power throughout the FZ1 s broad rpm range while meeting all emissions regulations. Race-inspired curved radiator with twin ring-style fans keeps everything cool under all conditions. 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 Video Featuring Ben Spies
Mon, 26 Sep 2011Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.
Yamaha U.S. Increasing Club Level Road Racing Contingency

But at least Yamaha is stepping up to the plate and increasing its contingency program for club level road racers 50% over last year. According to Yamaha, the program is designed to encompass a broad spectrum of road racing series across the U.S., from numerous club-level and regional sprint series events to the AMA Pro Road Racing series, including the addition of the ASRA Team Challenge Endurance Series.
Yamaha To Release Naked MT-09 SP
Tue, 29 Aug 2017In 2018, the Japanese brand will introduce an advanced version of the MT-09 bike. An interesting novelty will be out this year. Yamaha's top naked MT-10, formidable and comfortable, has an SP version with adjustable Öhlins electronic suspension, TFT gauges and special coloring.
