Yamaha FZ description
2009 YAMAHA FZ6RY R, The 2009 Yamaha FZ6 stands out thanks to a winning recipe: a light, comfortable and versatile overall package powered by a more than decent number of horses that satisfies all rider s needs as long as they plan to stay on road. Furthermore, the Comfort seat , previously found only in the accessory list, is now standard. The YAMANA YZF-R6 is a bike that takes a more docile approach , however its 600cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder DOHC, 16 valves has proven a top performer on all models that it powered, the last being the FZ6R. The engine is fuel injected and mated to a six-speed gearbox through a multi-plate clutch and that immediately qualifies it as a class leader. But, probably the best of it is the compact, light bodywork (459 lb wet weight) and front/rear 5.1 inches of travel offered by the 43mm telescopic fork and single shock. Also, with 17-inch alloy wheels and two 298mm floating discs up front and a 245mm rear one, you know that the bike s DNA links it to the track although you will most likely never ride it there. The FZ6 is a model was initially designed for the European market where it was first been called the Fazer. The continent first saw the Yamaha Fazer at the 1997 Paris Show and from the very first moment it established a unique balance between performance, light handling, comfort and fuel economy. The 600cc engine was developed from that of the YZF600R Thunder Cat super-sport model and the frame was a wide-type double cradle steel unit. It went into production in 1998 and a year later it became the top selling model in its class. It has had multiple improvements and revisions throughout the years. The 2009 is among its the latest revisions, sporting among the latest technologies, nicest design and comfort. It s a bike to own and enjoy. The price is outstanding. Bike s engine and transmission are in good condition. The structure (frame, subframe, swing arm, forks) is also firm and straight. The bike does have some cosmetic aspects that need some TLC, such as: dents on gas tank, missing turn signals, front mask with scratches and light crack, missing bottom V , left ram air cover missing, bent shifter & brake lever, scrapped brake and clutch levers, scratched mirrors. The price is fantastic, you cannot beat it. Come and see it.......

Rainy BSB tests are nothing new
Mon, 25 Mar 2013THE combination of bad weather in the UK and a European testing ban means that most BSB teams will now start the season with very little track time. This sounds like a disaster for the top teams but history has proved this isn’t necessarily true and it sometimes doesn’t matter how much pre season preparation has taken place. Back in 2002 Sean Emmett won on the IFC Ducati at the opening Silverstone round after first riding it in unofficial practice the same weekend. Steve Hislop took the other win on Pauls Bird’s well sorted Ducati. More recently in 2009, Leon Camier took an untested new model R1 Yamaha to victory at the Brands Hatch opener after GSE took delivery of the bike just the week before. Sylvain Guintoli won the other race on a well developed, well tested Crescent Suzuki. You could argue if no one has had testing then it is a level playing field but you have to feel for riders moving up to the superbike class in the world’s toughest national series. Tyco Suzuki’s PJ Jacobson is one such rider but having spent some time with him over the past few weeks he seems to be taking it all in his stride. It may be the confidence of youth or maybe the fact he has won in every other class he has entered in his short BSB career, but I suspect he fancies at least standing on the Superbike podium at Brands (He also does a bit of ice racing which is not dissimilar to the this year’s UK testing). The testing ban was implemented with all the best cost cutting intentions and if it had been any other year in the past decade all would be well. The teams may be feeling frustrated but the fans should be excited. With so many unknowns, the 2013 BSB opener at Brands Hatch could be the best ever!

So check back later for Jon's updates on their progress to southern France.
