Yamaha FZ description

The Skinny:
2006 Yamaha FZ1
34500 miles
ECUnleashed re-flashed ECU (improves smoothness, mid-range power, and MPG)
Heated Grips
New Sprockets and Chain
Larger-than-Stock rear sprocket (brings power to more legal speeds)
Rifle touring windscreen for extra $100

The Full Story:
The Yamaha FZ1 is one of the most underrated motorcycles of the modern era. Tremendous comfort, outstanding performance, impeccable reliability.

It's one of the best Jack-of-All bikes on the market today. If you want to commute around town or on the highway and carve through the twisties, all the while experiencing a comfortable ride to the twisties, this is the bike for you. It even has a center stand which makes chain and tire maintenance a breeze.

For sale is a 2006 Yamaha FZ1 in Lava Red. It is nearly stock with two very critical and important exceptions. The rear sprocket was exchanged for one size larger sprocket to bring the powerband down from the stratosphere making it much more usable for the street. The ECU has been flashed by ECUnleashed which gave more smoother power and more fuel economy, believe it or not.

The handlebars, which have aftermarket heated grips, have been rotated down very slightly from stock to provide a slightly more sporty riding position. The heated grips I installed myself and I wouldn't live without them now.

Everything else is stock.

This bike has 34500 very well cared for miles. All service has been performed by Riverside Motorsports in Somerville, MA. Remember, higher mileage engines are going to be more reliable with fewer 'cobwebs' than bikes which haven't been ridden hardly at all.

Tires are Pirelli Diablo ST tires which are incredible Sport-Touring tires. This bike is not without its scratches and nicks as it is 35000 miles young. It has been well ridden and well loved.

Thanks for reading and happy riding.

Think You’re a Smooth Rider? Yamaha’s SmartRiding App Will Prove It

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

Yamaha has released a new app that records and evaluates riding habits. The free Yamaha SmartRiding app (available now in the App store) uses the Apple devices sensors to measure basic telemetry to evaluate how smoothly you handle curves. The app requires the device to be firmly fixed to the motorcycle in either a vertical or horizontal arrangement (the app is compatible with iPhones, iPods and iPads, though I’m not sure how many people will mount a tablet to their motorcycle).
