1975 Norton Commando (1975)
Up for sale is a 1975 Norton Commando MKIII that has had a very comprehensive restoration. I'll start at the beginning of the story: I heard about this particular bike sitting in someones garage in the high desert in California. The last time it had been on the road was 1980, as per the story, and the last registration date on the blue California license plate which is original to the bike. I made contact with the owner, who purchased the bike in 1978.2016-07-04 05:01:53Bakersfield, California, United States2827000

1971 Norton Commando (1971)
Ok i bought this from the second owner. He had re wired the bike and put in an electronic ignition with new coils..( It had sat for a while in a climate controlled garage..) When I got it I took it to Baxter Cycle and had them put 2 new Amal carbs on it. They also went over it and tidied up anything that needed doing...Since then, I have put about 30 miles on it...I now have a 75 850 and can't keep both...There is a small dent in the right muffler from the kickstart rubbing on it and the previous owner put some tap on a small crack on the rear fender...Otherwise ,it starts on one kick..Snarls like a Norton should and the electrics work...Looks to be original headlight and tires....I am by no means an expert and since I did not buy it new I can't verify it is all original but it sure does look like it to me...I have a copy of the previous owners title that states the mileage is accurate and everything else looks original and great..If you have less than 10 feedbacks contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid...Thanks!!2016-07-01 05:04:31Bennington, Nebraska, United States411000

1974 Norton Commando (1974)
1974 Norton Commando 850 This is a nice mostly original bike with original paint, seat, etc. The Amal carbs were serviced sometime ago. The bike will need a little TLC (tune up) most likely as it has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse with an extensive collection of bikes.2016-06-25 05:09:14Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States77900

1974 Norton Commando (1974)
OK, I've owned this bike for 39 years, bought in 1977 and I need to pass it on. The bike has a Boyer ignition, Mikuni VM 34 carb with a 240 pilot, Barnett clutch, non-sumping valve, fairly new Metzler tires, chain and everything else you see in the pictures including 39 years worth of spare parts and manuals. I had the top end done, the tires and chain maybe 500 miles ago; battery is to spec and two years old. As a younger man I've had the bike up to Jersey a few times, "tried" to outrun a Georgia state trooper back in the day and, well you guys can imagine the rest. I'm a semi-retired mining engineer and my body just doesn't cooperate like it used to so there you go. I know the bike inside and out and it is in great form; no runs, drips or errors. Sure, I coulda' washed it before I took the pics but just didn't feel like it. Some of the parts are new, used and/or original to this bike, i.e., from the dual Amal configuration and other modifications. I had also rebuilt a sister to this bike which I sold to a chap in New Zealand a few years ago which also increased the parts inventory. Any questions, let me know.2016-06-20 05:09:17Abingdon, Virginia, United States1711,000.00

1970 Norton Commando (1970)
This is a beautiful Norton bike! I purchased it from the original owner. The bike sat in his shop for 8 years. I cleaned the carbs, points, adj. valves and it fired on third kick.] The bike was blue when I got it, (not my favorite color) so I had it professionally painted with decal's clear coated...real nice! The bike is real solid, all numbers match. I believe it is stock, the original owner said the top end has only 1,000 miles since overhaul and I believe him. Real strong compression..has the combat cam.2016-06-14 16:22:35Anderson, California, United States136,000.00

1974 Norton Commando (1974)
This bike was found languishing in a garage since 2002. It was tricked out as a cafe racer and looked pretty shabby, but had a lot of potential. The best thing about it was that the engine had been completely rebuilt, including new head, valves, pistons and Concentric Amal carbs, some 5000 miles before it was parked, by Bill Mankin at Rabbers in San Jose, CA.2016-06-14 16:22:07Glorieta, New Mexico, United States3120000

Norton Commando 1975 Electric Start MK3 850cc (1975)
Very nice low mileage original Norton Commando E start. This bike I believe is a 1 owner and has 12,000 original miles. Original bike owned for most of it's life by a family friend. This bike is original to the Midwest. Still has original Union key. Clear title in my name can be shipped worldwide without issue. The Good: - 4 brush starter spins like a top - Yusa Gel Battery (1 year old) - Good Front tire & brand new rear Dunlop k81s (See photos) - Updated cosmetics: Professional Black paint, lined tank & pin stripes as original by Cliff Anderson - 1n the 90's at 9500 miles the motor was freshened up by Steve Hamel and Head redone by Dick's porting (They typically split up engine rebuilds that way). The owner was paranoid about 75's having a soft cam, and that was replaced, pistons, ring, valve job all done. Bike still is standard bore and all original Norton parts were used, (Hepolites, Norton Cam (still have wrapper and Norton part number on it) no junk, no pattern parts used. - Motor is oil tight, no stripped exhaust ports broken fins etc.2013-10-21 00:02:57Shakopee, Minnesota, US9508,900.00

2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Review – First Ride
Wed, 28 Aug 2024Better suspension and Track mode brings us so close to an R9 Photos by Dave Schelske As the tail rider in a train of approximately seven identical Yamahas, I couldn’t help but watch in awe as each of us weaved our way through the notorious Tail of the Dragon, bending the bike underneath us to our will through the 120-something corners, the unison of the dance mesmerizing as each of us took our turn, one by one, around each apex, at irresponsible speeds, front wheels inches away from the person in front of us. This is the kind of trust you build up after you’ve ridden with the same group of people for years on end. We all know that riding with your friends is fun.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Review – First Ride
Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Ride
Wed, 13 Dec 2023Small updates keep the T7 fresh, but we're still missing out on the European variants Photos by Yamaha/Joseph Agustin Photo Yamaha’s popular Ténéré 700 “T7” adventure bike returns for 2024, and while it would be easy to say it is “largely unchanged” from the 2023 model, there have been some notable changes made in response to feedback from many North American riders. One wish still unrealized: the U.S. dealers won’t be getting the up-spec World Raid and numerous other versions of the T7 the EU enjoys - at least not this year.

2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review
Thu, 17 Aug 2023Riding 950 miles across three states in two days highlights this Tracer’s capabilities Photography by Joseph Augustin New motorcycle model introductions follow a well-worn path: travel to the event location, eat nice meals, get briefed on the bike of the moment, ride a route designed to highlight the bike’s strengths, take photos/video, eat more good food, return home, and write up a review. After 27 years in this industry, I still get a cheap thrill about throwing a leg over a new motorcycle before it is available to the general public. However, what really gets me going is when I have a chance to log more than just the couple of hundred miles typically covered in an intro and spend some real time on the road with said bike.
2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review – First Ride
Thu, 18 May 2023Yamaha’s sports tourer middleweight receives an influx of technology for 2023 Astute readers are probably wondering why Motorcycle.com is publishing a First Ride of a bike that’s not coming to the States this model year. Our reasoning is that, thanks to the sleuthing of Dennis Chung, we suspect the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ will be coming to the U.S. in 2024.
Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Finally Coming to US for 2024
Thu, 06 Apr 2023Sport-tourer equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control Last November, Yamaha Motor Europe revealed a new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA, a new version of its Triple-powered sport tourer equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, adaptive cruise control, and a radar-linked unified braking system. Yamaha Motor USA, however, remained quiet about it, and we later learned the Tracer 9 GT+ was not coming to the States for 2023. In fact, even the less techy regular Tracer 9 was left out of Yamaha Motor USA’s returning model announcements.
Yamaha MT-10 SP Project Bike - Update 1
Thu, 26 Jan 2023Everythings installed and initial impressions. It’s been about a month since we introduced Motorcycle.com’s 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP semi-long-term project bike. In case you forgot the premise of this whole thing, Yamaha offered us the opportunity to hang on to an MT-10 SP for an extended period of time, and since I have a soft spot for the bike, I decided to give it some tasteful upgrades to address some key weaknesses while also unleashing some trapped potential.
Introducing Motorcycle.com's 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP Semi Long Term Bike
Tue, 20 Dec 2022Tasteful mods and curvy miles are in store. Credit: Photos by Joseph Agustin (Lead Photo) Long-term test bikes aren’t something we normally do here at Motorcycle.com, but when Yamaha’s PR guy Gerrad Capley said I could take the MT-10 SP home after the press intro, it was an offer that was hard to resist. When I asked him how long I could have it, he basically shrugged his shoulders and winked.
