Vincent All description

Cover: strong VG+ (ring wear, small half inch stain on back)

Record: VG+ (background noise during a couple of quieter spots but plays well overall)

All LP's in this list of auctions have been professionally cleaned on the most thorough setting with a Klaudio ultrasonic cleaning machine.

Please check out my other auctions! I have hundreds of hard to find jazz LP's up this week. Lots of original and scarce pressings on Blue Note, Prestige Impulse, Riverside, Contemporary, Fantasy, Pacific Jazz, Limelight and other smaller labels.

Grading:

NM Looks unplayed or perhaps played just a few times. The cleanest grade I give and very rarely used.

VG++ (same as EX) Very light surface marks often from the inner sleeve that do not affect play. Perhaps a very light tick or brief moment of barely audible surface noise at the very worst. Overall a very clean record.

VG+ Light surface noise during a quiet moment or two. Might play with a few light pops here and there but nothing sustained over more than a few seconds.

VG Surface noise is more pronounced or more frequent than in a VG+ record, but never skips or overtakes the music. Might play with some light pops or ticks for a minute or two at a time. Still an enjoyable listen.

VG- A filler copy. Will play with louder pops or ticks than a VG record and surface noise might compete with the music during the quieter moments. I will only offer a record in this condition when its scarcity demands.

I am offering free shipping on all additional LP's going media mail within the U.S. No matter how many LP's you win shipping is $4.00! Domestic Priority mail is also available but please ask for a quote.

I combine costs on international shipping so win a few auctions and save!

Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.

Behind the “Bathing Suit” Picture

Fri, 09 Jan 2009

Few motorcycle photographs are as iconic as that of the famous Bonneville “Bathing Suit Picture.” While you have undoubtedly seen this image before, you may not know the story behind it. The scantily clad and debatably crazy rider was a man by the name of Roland “Rollie” Free. The bike, often thought by many to be a Vincent Black Shadow, was in fact a Black Lightning – the fastest Vincent ever to see production.
