Van Gogh Ink Sketch-

THIS IS A GENUINE DRAWING AND NOT A PRINT/LITHOGRAPH OF ANY KIND

bearing the Signature: " Vincent"  lower right.

Size: 9 x 6" inches - artwork: ink drawing on paper.

This signed ink piece was acquired second hand through my grandmothers estate.   Her collections were obtained through her travels and consist of different pieces of art in all different types of mediums by various artists from various decades.   She kept most all of the paintings and drawings in storage trunks and storage units as some others adorned the walls of her home.  That being said some of the pieces are in overall better condition than others. This Van Gogh drawing was kept in her home and in a frame, so it appears to be in really good condition. Selling without the frame and to be sold "as is" in "the style/manner of the artist"- Because there was no formal documentation found to accompany it. Also starting bid low for this reason. This is an As is Auction - Including as many pictures/info as possible to give you the full picture of this item offered. See item below.

About the Collector:

Her career in opera and
theater spanned over 20 years and took her many places.

Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.

Behind the “Bathing Suit” Picture

Fri, 09 Jan 2009

Few motorcycle photographs are as iconic as that of the famous Bonneville “Bathing Suit Picture.” While you have undoubtedly seen this image before, you may not know the story behind it. The scantily clad and debatably crazy rider was a man by the name of Roland “Rollie” Free. The bike, often thought by many to be a Vincent Black Shadow, was in fact a Black Lightning – the fastest Vincent ever to see production.
