1953 AMA Cycle Pageant- A Look At The Years Most Popular Models! This is a pair of articles- the first article is three pages, and looks at the pageant itself, the second article is 14 pages and is a look at many of the models featured in the pageant, including Adler, AJS, Ambassador, Ariel, BMW, BSA,Harley Davidson, Indian, James DOT, Moto Guzzi, Mustang,Norton, NSU, Panther, Royal Enfield,Simplex, Sunbeam, Velocette, Vincent and Zundapp. There is a section called Current Motorcycle Specifications at the end of this article, please note that it is MISSING THE LAST PAGE of specs and I am unable to include this missing page. This is a hard to find piece of motorcycling history! Page measures approximately 9" x 12" . It does have light creasing from being folded in the past. Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip
Wed, 23 Jul 2014“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track, Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.

Wed, 27 Apr 2011The MotoGP circus moves into it's tenth appearance at the Estoril circuit, with the Portugease circuit playing host to a Grand Prix event in each of the previous nine years since the introduction of the four-stroke MotoGP formula at in 2002. Below is a reminder of the highlights of the previous nine MotoGP races held at Estoril: 2002 – Having won the last 500cc GP race at Estoril in 2001, Valentino Rossi (Honda) won the first of the MotoGP races held at the circuit. This was a race that was run in very wet conditions and Sete Gibernau had led for most of the race only to crash out with four laps to go.
