I grade records visually and try to be very conservative

I usually add comments relating to the amount and degree of scuffs and scratches,wear and often play grading    If I detect a warp I will add to the description

NM/VG++ or EX/VG+/VG/VG-/VG--/G+/G 

My grading scale is below

NM (mint or very close to mint         It should play like a new record        some records can have some sound that is inherent in the pressing)

VG++ or EX  (clean with some very fine scattered scuffs or scratches         should play very clean)

VG+  (nice copy            will have some scattered light scuffs or scratches      no heavy scratches         it could be glossy or starting to have some play wear     a worn unscratched would be this grade     it may play very clean or have some light surface noise     )

VG  (more light scuffs or scratches     it could be still glossy or have some play wear     it may play some surface noise or possibly very clean)

VG-  (more light scuffs or scratches   / maybe some that you can feel       probably some play wear      it may play with steady surface noise or possibly clean)

VG--  (lots of scuffs and scratches and worn but not to the degree of a G copy      will probably have some surface noise)

G+  (lots of scuffs and light scratches with some wear             slightly better than a G copy    it will probably play with surface noise unless noted )

G    (covered in scuffs and scratches with heavy wear     will probably have a lot of steady surface noise    should track through

it will probably play with surface noise unless noted
