  • Near mint (NM): Near mint sports cards show no worse than 70/30 centring, slight corner wear, barely visible print spots, some colour or focus loss to the naked eye.

  • Excellent to mint (EXMT): Excellent to mint sports cards are essentially the same as near mint, but with a bit more wear on at least two corners.

  • Excellent (EX): Excellent sports cards show visible wear on all four corners and centring no worse than 80/20. Observable print spots, dull colour, or slight focus imperfections.

Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
