2013 AMA Daytona 200 Race Report

Cameron Beaubier led a parade of Yamaha YZF-R6 racebikes to win the 72nd running of the famed Daytona 200. The Yamaha Extended Service Graves Yamaha rider started from pole position and led for 50 of 57 laps before winning by a 22.254-second margin. Behind Beaubier were four other R6 riders including his teammate Garret Gerloff who finished second.

A Walkaround With The Mugen Shinden San TT Zero Winner + Video

Earlier today, John McGuinness earned his 21st Isle of Man TT victory, claiming the top step in the TT Zero electric motorcycle race aboard the Mugen Shinden San. His single-lap race time of 19:17.300 means he averaged an astonishing 117.366 mph, destroying the existing lap record of 109.675 mph set last year by Michael Rutter aboard the MotoCzysz. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, the Michael Czysz could not field a team this year. Legends Ride Stops Sturgis Traffic

This is a small sample of the participants in Monday’s annual Legends Ride from Deadwood to Sturgis. Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.
