Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.

Another New Victory Coming 1/20/12

Hot off the trails of the Hard Ball’s release just last month, Victory Motorcycles is showing no signs of slowing down in 2012, as it’s set to debut yet another new model January 20 at the New York International Motorcycle Show. Details about the new machine are scarce, but if we were to guess judging on the graphic above we’d say it could be loosely based off the Vegas due to its conventional fork and lack of fairings. Last weekend, the Team Icon Brammo and Team Parker Brammo squads competed against their gas-powered counterparts, which you can read about here. Now, let’s take a closer look at just how far e-bike technology has progressed since Brammo — and Lightning — last raced at Sonoma Raceway, exactly one year ago.   At the AFM races this year, Team Icon Brammo riders Steve Atlas and Eric Bostrom raced their Empulse RR machines against 600cc and 750cc Inline-Fours, and even a few liter-class V-Twins.
