Who To Watch In AMA Pro SuperSport

America’s road racing champions of tomorrow are racing in AMA Pro SuperSport today, and their season kicks off this weekend at Daytona International Raceway. With events on both Friday and Saturday, there are plenty of chances for glory for the 48 competitors entered. AMA Pro SuperSport is the most unpredictable class and the racing gives a chance for riders in the large fields to step up and prove they have what it takes. A great example is reigning AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Champion and current SuperBike pilot Cameron Beaubier, who cut his teeth in his two-victory, two-pole season in 2010.

A Walkaround With The Mugen Shinden San TT Zero Winner + Video

Earlier today, John McGuinness earned his 21st Isle of Man TT victory, claiming the top step in the TT Zero electric motorcycle race aboard the Mugen Shinden San. His single-lap race time of 19:17.300 means he averaged an astonishing 117.366 mph, destroying the existing lap record of 109.675 mph set last year by Michael Rutter aboard the MotoCzysz. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, the Michael Czysz could not field a team this year. WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).
