WSBK: 2012 Miller Results

Tue, 29 May 2012

Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. You. Call. That. Lean

Fri, 14 May 2010

Jean Philippe Ruggia, 1988, Coppice at Donington Park, Sonauto-Yamaha 250. This is elbow lean action. There was a previous blog entry of Ben Spies and his elbow grazing the tarmac onboard the M1 Yamaha, I admit it is impressive but I find myself admiring the horizontal angles that Ruggia submitted his 250 Yamaha to, with the above image taken at Coppice as a prime example.

Rookie of the Year: Crutchlow vs. Abraham

Mon, 31 Oct 2011

The MotoGP championship is all settled with Casey Stoner lifting the title, but there is still an underlining honour yet to be decided at Valencia; the Rookie of the Year between Cal Crutchlow and Karel Abraham (and Moto2 and 125 - but they seem to be safely in the respective hands of Bradl and Terol). Coming into the final race this weekend, Crutchlow leads Abraham by one point in the championship. Both riders have common knowledge of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, the Briton having raced there in his World Superbike and Supersport years whereas Abraham scored his only Grand Prix victory at Valencia in his final Moto2 race last season.
