WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.

Celebrating 15 years of American-made production, Victory Motorcycles unveiled its 2014 lineup today, featuring two new 8-Ball baggers, a $1000 price cut on the High-Ball, a Ness Cross Country and the new Factory Custom paint program. First up, Victory has given its Cross Country and Cross Roads the stripped down 8-Ball treatment – and a stripped down price tag to match. Exposed to their bare bagger bones and painted black, the Cross Country is accessory-free but for its fairing and audio system, while the Cross Roads ditches its Lexan windshield.

Motorcycle Accident Leaves Cagefighter in Coma

WEC (World Extreme Cagefighter) bantamweight fighter Will Ribeiro was recently in a motorcycle accident that has left him in a comatose state in hospital in Rio De Janeiro according to WEC.tv. According to the report, Ribeiro was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet when the bike crashed on a slick road. “My assistant said that the doctor said for sure that [Ribeiro] has lost sight in one of his eyes,” Ribeiro’s manager, Ed Soares, told WEC.tv.
