2001 Victory on 2040-motos
San Mateo, California, United States
Victory All description
An American classic + free Kendon folding motorcycle
trailer + extra stuff! This is an auction for a really nice 2001 Victory
V92C motorcycle, and will include a folding single rail motorcycle
hauling trailer, for towing behind your RV, truck, car, etc. This a
value package for a motorcycle and trailer to carry a motorcycle, plus
extras.
The motorcycle is the last year of the original 92 cubic inch (1507cc)"Hammer" oil cooled motor, and has the super strong (wide gear) 5 speed transmission. This motor, unlike the later motors, holds a full 6 quarts of semi-synthetic oil. The motor is completely stock, and the bike has just 4872 senior driven miles. This was only a secondary bike, the primary bike was a BMW R100RT, hence the low miles on this Victory. This is the last model to have all steel chassis bodywork (tank, fenders, side covers), before the company switched over to plastic. They do not build them like this anymore, it is solid. The bike has some great accessories, like the Ace Leather saddlebags w/quick disconnect brackets ($900 at the time), Victory stage 1 exhaust ($300), Victory rear rack (yup, expensive), WindVest windshield ($399 now), and various Ness chrome (expen$ive) bling goodies. This bike has been sitting for a while, but starts and runs great! This bike is ready to ride. The bike is currently registered as "non-op" in California. This is a one owner bike and has a clean (clear) CA title. VIN is 5VPCB15L813000426 The trailer is a Kendon single rail folding trailer designed to haul a motorcycle. The current price for one of these new is around $2600, but worth it for the convenience. It weight approx 250#, but is rated to haul around 1200# due to the superior torsion bar suspension. The neat thing about this trailer is that is is designed to fold in half and stand on end, and has small wheels to allow it to be pushed into a corner or up against a wall. The other stuff that will come with the sale are 2 motorcycle floor jacks, one a mechanical leverage stand, the other a hydraulic lift (heavy duty). The bike and trailer are only being sold as a lot, no exceptions, and must be picked up.... no shipping nor delivery is being offered. They are located in the SF Bay Area (peninsula). Yes, the bike can be hauled home on the trailer! I am the bike owners son-in-law, he is retiring from riding, being now in his 80's. We have ridden together, he was a sensible, mature rider who babied his stuff, borderline on being anal. This is a great chance for someone to get a fantastic American made motorcycle, one that made much more power than the "competitors" same year bike, and the trailer you always wanted, but could not justify the expense. This is a deal. Here is a thought... if a person was to buy this bike/trailer combo, and bought a 106" Vic motor on eBay, added cams and swapped motors, that person would end up with the ultimate Harley killer, a real sleeper for under $6k, and have a cool trailer! Your HOG buddies will be pissed. This is being sold at a very reasonable price, and is only being sold as a lot (bike, trailer, floor jacks). This will not be shipped, no shipping is being offered. If desired, shipping can be arranged by buyer (at buyer's expense), but any liability is on the shipper. Buyer must be a legal adult, and must have more than 10 positive feedback. A non refundable deposit of $500 must be received within 72 hours of commitment to buy. Payment must be by PayPal. This is an auction and not a conditional sale, if you wish to preview the item prior to auction end, please contact me... but no tire kickers, not at this price. When bought, this item must be paid for and picked up within 10 days. Auction may end early, this item is also being offered locally (besides on eBay). Ride free, this is America. |

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read
Fri, 19 Feb 2010ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.
