The Vespa LX 150 IE is equipped with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, LEADER engine with catalytic converter. The engine is mated on a CVT transmission and puts out a maximum power of 8,7 kW at 8,000 rpm (11.6 hp) and 11,5 Nm of torque at 6.250 rpm (8.4 ft -lb).
