1973 Kawasaki Z1 (1973)
I am relisting this bike after finding out that I had some misinformation on the fact that this bike was an original unrestored bike. I was contacted through the auction by someone who knew this bike and the fact that it was restored. He graciously gave me what information he had which is detailed below. As an avid Indian Motorcycle collector with some 40 bikes this Kawasaki was out of my realm of knowledge, I am sorry for the first incorrect listing and now here is what I now know. It is 1973 Kawasaki Z1, Frame # Z1F 00265, Engine number Z1E 00304 The bike was restored in 2001 to 2002 by Greg Walker who did an outstanding renovation. The original bike was built in September of 1972 with now only 787 miles on it since its restoration. I don't know much about the bike so ask questions and I'll answer them the best I can. I am hoping to hear from the restorer to get more information and I will add it when and if I do. The bike is in great condition but unfortunately the front hand brake lever tip was broken off in transport as well as some damage to the outer end of the grip. The last owner loved his low numbed bikes and this one certainly qualifies. Over the years it has it's small amount of light scratches but nothing glaring and is in excellent condition. There is no battery in it but I have one and we are going to get it started in the next day or so. This bike was on display for a while in the Motorcycle Museum in Newburgh NY and although incorrectly shown as we now know as an original the prior owner did have it judged and it was judged by the AMCA and reached Winners Circle.2016-06-14 14:52:00Amityville, New York, United States78737000

From the gates of the Irbit plant comes the upgraded "citizen" Ural cT
Thu, 30 Mar 2017From the gates of the Irbit plant comes the upgraded "citizen" Ural cT - the most affordable motorcycle in the lineup, which has gained points in comfort. The old-school control panel was replaced with a trendy panel with built-in electronics. The second important innovation, for which the riders who decide to buy will sing the glory to IMZ, are the more comfortable “one and a half” seats, which replaced the rubber “frogs” (or “tractor” ones, as you like).

Urals Parade Through Sochi Olympic Ceremony
Fri, 07 Feb 2014With the start of the Sochi winter olympics upon us, reports have gone rampant about the terrible conditions some athletes and media have experienced so far. Lost in all the hoopla is the participation of 20 red Urals in the Olympics opening ceremony. A spectacular procession of the legendary sidecar motorcycles across the ice of the Fisht stadium symbolized one of the achievements in Russia’s post-WWII reconstruction history and gave Ural a moment of recognition in front of an international audience.

Help Fund Motorcycle Retrofits for Impaired Riders
Thu, 07 Nov 2013Don Jackson, owner of Yesterday’s Rides Metalworks in Newberg, OR, and a marine veteran, has announced a crowdfunding initiative to raise money to complete the prototype of a motorcycle retrofit designed for persons who require the use of a personal mobility device. The retrofit allows the owner to ride their personal mobility device (wheelchair, scooter, etc.) onto a sidecar via a ramp, lock it in place, retract the ramp using electronic controls, climb on to the motorcycle and ride off. When the rider reaches his/her destination, the mobility device is right alongside, ready to unlock and use. The initial prototype is based on a modified Ural, which is already sidecar compatible.
