Big-Bore motorcycling at its elemental best.  A "Thumper" - 441cc’s of long-stroke, high-torque, single-cylinder British iron from 1968.  Old age and arthritis dictate that it is time for me to give her up.  A "daily rider" - not showroom or museum quality, but a nice, good-looking bike you can happily ride.  It turns heads and wins admiring glances wherever it goes.  It -IS- a BSA, and it -IS- 48 years old.  There is a nice patina of age on the mechanicals.  The bike was found in a barn in Upstate NY after many years of sitting.  The years left their mark, with some corrosion on the rims, front brake drum, and rear fender - light pitting on gas cap and headlamp shell - carefully review the photos.  Using the correct tickle, compression-release, then kick with conviction starting drill, the bike starts easily and runs well.  The Amal Concentric has extended Tickler and Idle Screw adjustments.  I have gone completely through the bike since I purchased it, and there are many new parts throughout the machine, including new tyres, new speedo, new chain, new clutch-brake-speedo cables, rebuilt carb, hex-screws on engine side covers, and innumerable small parts.  Buyer will receive a complete history of all work since I took possession of the bike in 2015.  The paint is new and bright red - see photos.  The tank and side panels are the original fiberglas.  The tank has been sealed.  I have used ONLY non-ethanol premium gasoline since I took possession in 2015.  New Avon AM26 RoadRider tyres.  New chain.  Both center- and side-stands.  The speedometer as-delivered was a handful of loose parts.  Reassembly was futile; therefore, the actual mileage of the bike is unknown.  A new reproduction speedometer has been installed.  Matching engine and frame numbers.  This is a USED and VINTAGE motorcycle, sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no other warranty, express or implied.  It -IS- a BSA, and will mark its territory with a few drops of oil.  Otherwise, it is reasonably "oil-tight."  Study the photographs carefully and bid appropriately.  Pickup and shipping are the responsibility of buyer.   Paypal only.  $500 non-refundable Paypal deposit within 48 hours of winning bid.  Balance due within seven calendar days of winning bid; balance accepted only via Paypal or Cash-In-Hand to Seller.  Motorcycle, title, and keys will be released to Buyer or buyer's agent upon Seller's receipt of complete, full purchase price.

2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS Review – First Ride

Thu, 20 Mar 2025

Would you describe the ruckus, sir? Photography: Chippy Wood; Stuart Collins Gents, I shudder to think what sport motorcycling would look like without the Speed Triple in our midst. As the story goes, a few intrepid souls at Triumph's Hinkley plant took a Daytona 900 and tossed its fairings in the bin, then stuck on a single-round headlight, birthing the streetfighter class as we know it.

2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800 Review – First Ride

Tue, 04 Feb 2025

Look out, the Tiger Sport 800 is on the prowl Photos by Chippy Wood and Gareth Harford/Triumph Motorcycles The motorcycling landscape is a place of wondrous flux as manufacturers vie for position amongst current trends. It's called striking while the iron is hot, folks, and it's what keeps the lights on around here. For some time now, the traditional sport-touring class has been left out of the fun, relegated to the room's corner chair, where it's watched a bullish ADV segment enter the market's collective garages – oh, the indignity!

Mon, 23 Dec 2024

Updating a classic with modern suspension and sportier looks Photos by Triumph. With how advanced today’s motorcycles are becoming, the 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 is a breath of fresh air. 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Review – First Ride

Fri, 06 Dec 2024

The sportiest modern classic continues to push the performance envelope Photos by Triumph Motorcycles. Selling 20,000 units since its reintroduction in 2019, the Speed Twin had once topped the charts as Triumph’s best selling model before being unseated by the likes of the excellent standard Trident 660, and now the equally impressive TR400 machines. For 2025, the Speed Twin 1200 not only gets enhanced electronics by way of an IMU and slight styling upgrades, but is also now joined by a pointedly sport-focused RS model that ups the ante of what a modern classic is capable of.
