Triumph Trident description

Up for auction is this nice condition 1975 Triumph T160 Trident. This is an unrestored bike that has always been a runner, yet has relatively low mileage at fewer than 18,000. Appearance is mostly original but for the exhaust system which is an extravagant and beautiful, Viking brand, hand-made header and genuine Dunstall Decibal silencers of the correct '75 model year. The silencers have just been repacked and sound wonderful without being too loud for comfort.

The bike has the European Triumph bars and the large capacity fuel tank, but is a US model. She has been completely serviced recently with valves adjusted plus all fluids/filters changed including brakes, forks, motor, gearbox etc. New brake pads as well. Additionally the bike is equipped with a Tri-Spark ignition, a Sparx reg/rec with built in capacitor and a new sealed battery. Tires and tubes are just about new also. I simply can't keep all my bikes due to space and cost, thus am forced to part with this excellent machine.

Please be advised that this bike has plenty of dings, dents and scratches consistent with her age. Though very well preserved, this is an unrestored bike that has been on the road since new and likely not spent very many riding seasons idle. However, the bike runs great and is all there to enjoy - whether you want to keep using it as a rider, give it a loving restoration, or turn it into a special of your own creation.

I will be happy to work with your shipping service and can recommend one, if needed, that will provide door-to-door delivery almost anywhere in the 48 states for $670 or less. Buyer must make a $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit within 24 hours of auction's end. The balance to be paid by cash, check, or wire within seven working days of auction's end (for wire all fees must be absorbed by the buyer).

Craig Vetter Grand Marshall for 2012 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

Tue, 22 May 2012

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame member and noted designer Craig Vetter — whose contributions to motorcycling range from the iconic Windjammer fairings and the Triumph X-75 Hurricane to the Mystery Ship limited-production high-performance motorcycles and a number of high-profile motorcycle fuel-economy contests — will be honored as this year’s grand marshal at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days featuring Rockers and Mods, July 20-22, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Vetter has been a member of the American Motorcyclist Association and a designer since 1965, and his varied background gives him a unique alliance to both the Rockers and Mods motorcycle subcultures. His design projects over the years have involved café racers — the motorcycles of choice for Rockers — and scooters, which are favored by Mods.
