Triumph Tiger tech info
Triumph Tiger description
For your pleasure is my 2012 Tiger Explorer. It is a blast to ride. Tons of performance, but comfortable and lots
of luggage capacity for long trips. I
purchased it used from the dealer when the bike was one year old. I am a 54 YO rider who has been riding since
I started on dirt bikes at 13. I do not
race or abuse my bikes. This one has
never been “off-road”. It has been on a
couple of dirt roads but only for a total of 10 miles. I purchased it because it is a great
combination of comfort, performance, and safety. I have taken it on 1000 mile trips and have
been very comfortable. But this is no
Gold Wing; it will eat up canyons and back roads with the best of them. With the 137 hp three cylinder 1215cc engine, 6 speed
gearbox, and shaft drive, you have the power and reliability to go anywhere! Trips
are quite comfortable with the Ride-By-Wire throttle and Cruise Control. With switchable Traction Control and ABS, you
can feel confident in whatever environment you find yourself in. In addition to the
Digital Speedometer and Analog Tachometer, you’ll have information available to
you such as Gear Position indicator, 2 trip odometers, Miles Per Gallon (MPG),
Miles to Empty, Clock, Temperature and hours ridden; all at the touch of a
button from the handgrip! With the large 5.3-gallon gas tank you won’t need to
stop very often, but if you do, the Nissin Twin-disc front and Single-disc rear
brakes with Switchable Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) will do the job! Both the front and rear suspension have a good range of
adjustments from sport bike firm to cruiser soft. I have averaged about 48 mpg. I don’t buy bikes for fuel
economy, but it is a nice side benefit. It has a 900 watt alternator; the biggest around. You could run a refrigerator off of this
thing. Heated gear, cell phones, GPS, etc. all no problem. I have had all servicing done at the Triumph dealer,
including the 10K service which included adjusting the valves, synching the
throttle bodies, and changing all fluids – brake, clutch, coolant, and oil. This bike is in excellent condition and ready to ride across country. This bike is loaded to the max. OPTIONS INCLUDE:

Triumph Street Triple Used to Test Rocket Components – Video
Fri, 04 May 2012California-based aerospace company XCOR is using a Triumph Street Triple to test rocket components for a suborbital spacecraft. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is a giant rocket strapped on to the Triumph, but the truth is much less dramatic, yet still fascinating. XCOR is using the Street Triple for endurance testing of bearings components for the rocket propellant piston pump of the Lynx suborbital spacecraft.

Church of MO: 2002 Triumph 955i Daytona First Ride
Sun, 03 Apr 2022For a while there it looked like Triumph wanted to play the superbike game with the rest of the world. But slimming down the 955i Daytona by losing its original one-sided swingarm, and other weight-saving measures, sometimes seemed more like cost-cutting ones. And maybe Triumph sensed the imminent demise of the superbike a bit earlier than some others.
