Triumph Thunderbird description

The Thunderbird Sport promises a great deal with its classic flat track
styling emphasised by its striking colour options and finished to
perfection with its pair of reverse cone silencers stacked one above the
other on the right-hand side.
It lives up to that promise thanks to a chassis which has been described
by many testers as the best handling of a Hinckley Triumph aside from
the supersport T500 series.
Compared with the Thunderbird from which the Sport is derived, the
suspension has a longer travel, the wheels front and rear are a sportier
17 inch diameter (compared with 18 and 16 inches front and rear) and the
front brake is uprated to twin disc specification from single disc.
In addition, to help riders take advantage of the enhanced ability of
the cycle parts, the engine is upgraded over the Thunderbird's to
produce 83PS (82bhp) and 76Nm (56lb.ft) compared with 70PS (69bhp) and
72Nm (53lb.ft).

A weekend of Lawn mower racing, Big Ed, Muc Off and Carlsberg

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

Around this time every summer the BMF hold the Garden Of England Motorcycle Show otherwise known as GEMS. The show happens to be round the corner from me so event sponsors MCE Insurance kindly sent me some passes so I could have a look around. Apart from the usual trade stands and crazy arena antics one of the highlights was the national lawn mower racing championship.

Price William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

Bonneville Performance Flat-Track (Video); Triumph gets back to its dirt-track roots

Tue, 07 May 2013

Last fall we attended the season finale of the AMA Pro Grand National Championship, and we were blown away with the intense level of competition. Our full report and video can be seen here. As the 2013 season is ramping up, we just got wind of a new video Triumph produced to showcase its invigorated factory dirt-track racing involvement, now with Latus Motors Racing joining up with the Bonneville Performance team we showcased in the above report.
