Triumph Thunderbird description

As good a cruiser as you'll find, for the ride and the look. The 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1600 cc, is a six speed, belt drive, liquid / air mix, that handles beautifully around town and on the highway (it was named "cruiser of the year" in 2010 by most of the major publications. Ride it and you'll understand why. Seriously, it's great.). This one is Pacific Blue and Fusion White (Triumph's names, not mine), and looks sweet.

I bought it brand new and have put less than 5,000 miles on it. It has been serviced on schedule (which is just twice), mostly garage kept (except a six month stretch where I stored it under a cover outside) and cleaned regularly and polished regularly.

It has a good amount of chrome Triumph accessories, including: Triumph long custom muffler (While I'll include the stock ones as well, these sound better), rear and front dresser bars, highway pegs and adjustable mounts, lower belt guard, radiator cover, t-bird clutch cover, master cylinder cover, billet style fuel cap, and shifter. It will also come with the matching blue and white headlamp cowl (makes it look a bit like a Boulevard), as well as a Triumph full windscreen with the mounting kit (the latter is still in the box and has never been used).

All things being equal I'd keep this thing indefinitely, because it really is an incredibly solid and good looking motorcycle.   But I'm moving out of the country for awhile, and a bike like this should be ridden and not sitting idle in a garage somewhere.

You (the lucky and soon to be very happy buyer) are responsible for pick-up or shipping.  Payment must be made in full (cash or cashier's check) and verified before bike and title will be released.

Church of MO: 2002 Triumph 955i Daytona First Ride

Sun, 03 Apr 2022

For a while there it looked like Triumph wanted to play the superbike game with the rest of the world. But slimming down the 955i Daytona by losing its original one-sided swingarm, and other weight-saving measures, sometimes seemed more like cost-cutting ones. And maybe Triumph sensed the imminent demise of the superbike a bit earlier than some others.

Jeremy Toye Wins 92nd Running Of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

On his first attempt at the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, road racer Jeremy Toye set a record in the premiere Open Class to win the category aboard a 2015 Kawasaki ZX-10R, celebrating the 30th year of the legendary Ninja brand. Prior to setting foot on the hill, Toye was confident he could get among the class leaders, aiming to beat the outright Pikes Peak motorcycle record, which was set by Carlin Dunne in 2012 with a time of 9:52.819. While that record remains intact, Toye was able to set a time of 9:58.687 to win the Open Class, finishing 6sec ahead of his closest rival, Fabrice Lambert aboard a Ducati.

How well does a Triumph Tiger 800 crash?

Mon, 08 Nov 2010

I've just come back to the hotel after our first day riding the Tiger 800 with the other Brit journos. One of the journos (who shall remain nameless, but alas, it wasn't me) crashed at low speed. Pictured here is his bike.
