Triumph Street Triple description

2013 Triumph Street Triple, STOCK PHOTO SHOWN2013 Triumph Street TripleThis truly impressive middleweight street motorcycle has been acclaimed by critics around the world. The all-new 2013 model is even punchier, better balanced and more exhilarating. The new chassis has a more dynamic specification, giving you agility and precision while keeping you planted, and better weight distribution and geometry give you an athletic, responsive ride. The heart of the Street Triple is the throbbing 675cc triple, delivering 106PS and 68Nm of torque. It s so good you ll have trouble believing its only 675cc. The torque and sound of the liquid cooled 12 valve triple, combined with a close ratio six speed gearbox produce an exciting ride, and the under-engine silencer helps lower the centre gravity and improve handling. It looks even better too, with stylish brushed metal finishes, aggressive headlights and a choice of colored coded styling accessories complementing the dark powder coated engines and frames.

Triumph’s Wheel Bearing Recall Spreads to US for 2011-2012 Daytona 675, Street Triple and 2012 Thunderbird and Thunderbird Storm

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Earlier this week, we wrote about a recall in Canada for unapproved wheel bearings for the 2011-2012 Triumph Daytona 675 sportbike and its naked sibling the Street Triple. As expected, a similar recall has now been announced for the U.S., adding the Thunderbird and Thunderbird Storm cruisers to the campaign. The recall also affects the 2011-2012 Triumph Street Triple R but the Daytona 675R is not included in the recall.

Watch: 2011 Speed Triple Dyno run

Tue, 05 Apr 2011

With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.
