Triumph Speed Triple description
Very low mileage 1999 Triumph Speed Triple in Roulette Green purchased new by me. In excellent like-new condition; no accidents, no damage, never dropped, no known problems. All work and yearly full servicing done by California Triumph, Mountain View, California. Have receipts, original 1999 factory brochure and catalog, owners manual, etc. Has clear California title, license and registration paid through August 2014. Always stored in my garage when not being ridden. Has the stock fuel injected 955cc triple. It is a fast, fun, reliable bike to ride. Due to health issues I am no longer able to ride the bike.
Beware buying any "older" bike with the original Nylon fuel tank. Aprillia, Triumph, KTM, MZ, Moto Guzzi, Ducati and other bikes of the era came with nylon gas tanks that would deform and eventually leak after 10-15 years. Check out deformedfueltanks.com
New factory gas tank installed earlier this year by the dealer ($1400). Found a local source of 100 Octane "race" gas without Ethanol which I use exclusively.
Many extras included; those installed were done by the selling dealer.
Factory Triumph parts installed:
- Front fork protectors
- Upgraded shift mechanism (from 2000 Speed Triple)
- Carbon fiber chain guard
- Quick release front seat kit
- Factory tool kit (many bikes did not come with this)
- Rear seat eliminator
Factory Triumph parts purchased but not installed:
- Rear "grab rail" (complete kit in factory box)
- Front "shield" (complete kit)
- Removable gas tank bag (velcro attachments mount harness around gas tank)
- Rear luggage bags (never used; easy to install/remove)
- Rear area screen ventilation (complete kit in factory box)
Non-factory parts:
- New Metzeler Roadtec Z6 sport touring tires (f:120/70ZR17, r:190/50ZR17)
- Smaller mirrors (stock mirrors included)
- Custom Corbin "front saddle" single front seat (installed)
- Aftermarket front "shield" (installed)
- Alternator cover (installed)
- Rear brake light blinking unit (installed)
- Battery slow charge/charge keeper (for long term storage)
The Corbin front seat, rear seat eliminator, and the stock front and rear seats can be mixed to provide a number of different combinations which I have tried to show in the pictures.

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer
Tue, 24 Mar 2009There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.

Craig Vetter To Headline AMA Hall Of Fame Breakfast At Daytona, March 14
Mon, 13 Jan 2014AMA Hall of Fame member Craig Vetter will be the featured guest at its annual AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona, on Friday, March 14, at 7:00 a.m., at the Daytona 500 Club on the infield at Daytona International Speedway. “Craig Vetter’s impact is far-reaching, starting with the design of the iconic Windjammer fairings of the 1970s, continuing with motorcycle designs like the Triumph X-75 Hurricane and the limited-edition ‘Mystery Ship,’ and enduring more recently with a resurrected series of motorcycle fuel economy runs that push the boundaries of everyday streamlining,” said Jeff Heininger, chairman of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, which oversees the Hall of Fame. “We’re proud to host motorcycling’s design professor emeritus for this year’s Breakfast at Daytona.” Taking place during 2014 Daytona Bike Week, the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona fundraiser will feature a live interview with Vetter on stage, an audience Q&A period and an autograph session with Vetter and other Hall of Famers in attendance. The event is open to the public, and tickets are available now at www.motorcyclemuseum.org.
