Triumph Speed Triple description

2012 Triumph Speed Triple R ABS - Phantom Black, Arrow Exhaust, Fly Screen, New Tires, VERY CLEAN - Taking the Speed Triple to an even higher level. Race-spec Öhlins suspension. Iconic 1,050 cc triple engine. New, smoother gearbox. Brembo monobloc brakes and lightweight forged alloy wheels from PVM. Its the real deal. The essence of the Speed Triple honed, sharpened and distilled to the ultimate R grade. Razor sharp on road or track. An intravenous connection of man and machine, tire and tarmac. Nothing comes close. From those iconic Öhlins NIX30 43 mm front forks, developed especially for the new Speed Triple R, to the track-developed Pirelli Supercorsa SP rubber, its clear that this is no ordinary motorcycle. Looks a million dollars. Looks as good as it rides. Beautifully engineered forged aluminum wheels reduce unsprung weight by 4.4 lbs. (2 kg) for scalpel like precision. Carbon fiber radiator and tank covers. Black anodized tapered handlebars. Jewel-like Öhlins TTX36 rear suspension for ultimate control and adjustability. Yours in black or white, with telltale red subframe for those in the know. It looks brilliant because it is brilliant. Triumphs ultimate factory streetfighter.

Thirty-two years after his death, Steve McQueen still reigns as the coolest movie star to ever ride a motorcycle. One of his preferred brands was Husqvarna (another, seen here, was Triumph) and to the delight of motorcycle enthusiasts and McQueen fans alike, one of his bikes will soon be in the hands of a new owner. This 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross owned and ridden by Steve McQueen will be up for auction on January 10th, at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, by Bonhams. The motorcycle comes with an exhaustive quantity of documents supporting its provenance and authenticity.

Brits Abroad

It's a rainy Tuesday evening and I'm trawling the information super highway for my parallel twin fix, when this little gem pops up. It's a teaser for a film called 'Brittown' featuring vintage Triumph motorcycle racer and mechanic Jeff "Meatball" Tulinius from the Hell On Wheels bike shop in Anaheim, CA. Enjoy

2013 Triumph Tiger Sport Announced

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Triumph revealed a new version of its 1050cc Tiger named the Tiger Sport. Triumph currently lists this new Tiger Sport beside its Tiger 1050 on the Triumph website’s 2013 offerings but the new model appears to be a replacement for the previous model which has been relatively unchanged since its introduction in 2007. Officially unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show, the 2013 Triumph Tiger Sport receives new body panels, tail and windscreen but perhaps the most notable design change is the new single-sided swingarm which better shows off the black cast aluminum alloy multi-spoke rear wheel.
