Triumph Speed Triple description

Up for your consideration is a 2006 Triumph Speed Triple. The bike is in great shape with low miles. I am the seconded owner and am selling to help raise a down payment for a house. The bike has good Michelin tires, fresh EBC sintered brake pads and fully synthetic oil. The bike has always been well taken care of and it shows in its condition. Currently miles are at 11100.  The bike has great paint with the only flaw being where the previous owner slipped on an oil spot at a stop light setting the bike on its side, putting a minor scuff on the left side engine cover. This flaw is bairly noticeable(see picture). The bike is totally stock with the exception of the rear fender removal and a baffle removed from a pair of stock mufflers. The bike includes the original set of un modified mufflers, the pictured fender parts and the owners manual/dealer packet. Good luck and feel free to ask questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I can be available to help load.

Above is some fantastic home movie footage of Buddy Holly and the Crickets messing around on motorbikes in 1958. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.

Triumph Sets Sales Record but Suffers First Operating Loss Since 2009

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Triumph sold 52,089 motorcycles from its fiscal year ended June 30, 2013, setting a new company record for annual sales. At the same time, the company announced an operating loss of £95,000 (US$155,300), the company’s time in the red since 2009. Much of the operating loss was caused by foreign currency exchanges and the cost of starting up manufacturing facilities in Brazil and India.
