1971 Cheney /Triumph 500 MX COMPLETELY RESTORED (1971)
Up for sale is one completely restored Cheney /Triumph 500 MX I was told there were less than 50 of these produced with the twin 500 I bought the bike 8 years ago from a guy here in California and was his fathers since new . It was negleted through the years and needed to be restored I took many pictures and took it all the way apart , Took original 1971 Triumph engine to Performance Cycle and had them completely rebuild the engine and transmission Cases and head were tumbled and covers were polished I have the original 2 into 1 down pipe and is in perfect shape and re chromed Frame and components were striped and nickel plated to orignal Hubs and akront rims were polished and laced up with stainless spokes from Buchanan INC.One fender was missing and the other was a plastic one I contacted Simon Cheney and he found new front and rear fenders , Tank decals , and some other small missing parts I needed . Purchased last year from a close friend in Dallas, Texas. The engine was brought back to life after some decades by Big D Cycle. The engine seems to run quite well, but it has not been test ridden. Mon, 29 Aug 2011Triumph is recalling accessory center stands for the 2011 Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC because of a defective return spring. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the return springs on the accessory center stand for the Triumph Tiger 800 and 800XC may not always return to its original length, potentially leading to a loose center stand and a fracture in the spring wire. Riders may detect a rattling sound from the loose stand and in the case of a fractured spring, a scraping sound caused by the center stand dragging along the road.

US Motorcycle Sales First Half 2011 Results
Thu, 28 Jul 2011The U.S. motorcycle industry saw a 4.6% decrease in year-on-year sales over the first six months of 2011, thanks mostly to a 17.3% drop in ATV sales. Motorcycle and scooter sales however saw a 1.7% bump in the first half .
Triumph Announces Expansion to India
Tue, 28 Jun 2011Triumph Motorcycles has announced plans to sell its motorcycles in India in 2012, becoming the latest manufacturer to enter the world’s second largest market. Triumph has appointed Ashish Joshi as managing director for its operations in India. Joshi is the former head of European operations for India-based Royal Enfield.
