    This is an amazing bike and it is basically brand new. It has just under 900 miles and has been broken in properly, nipples are still on the tires.     This circa 1971 Rickmann Metisse was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up.  The 500cc Triumph twin engine was done by the late Jim Strohmeier and chassis work by Matt Hilgenberg of Speed & Sport. Frame was nickle plated, rims powdercoated and laced with SS spokes/nipples, new wheel bearings, replated hardware, seat cover, fork seals, tires & tubes.  All chromed parts rechromed; all alloy polished. I built the wiring harness to incorporate head and tail lights and horn.  Electrics controlled by a Mity-Max regulator/rectifier/battery eliminator.  Beautiful, lightweight, powerful example of a classic Rickman Metisse.

    I'm selling my triumph T-140 bobber and as you can see everything has been touched if it's not painted it's chromed the motor was opened and completely gone through it runs as good as it looks !There is a lot of custom one off pieces that are fabricated welded and sent out to chrome the hard tail is a David bird 6" stretch with 2.5" drop all tig welded, PM rear brake caliper, All wiring runs through the frame as well as the return oiler line that feeds the top rockers, It has a boyer electronic ignition, 18" rear and 21" front tires the amazing paint was done by Headcase  Customs in West Covina the bike won 1st place in Best Paint category at the David Mann show in Ventura no matter where you go it just grabs people's attention it's truly a beautiful bike I've just lost interest in ridding.     I got this bike ( 1969 TR6 #s matching) from a man that has owned it since 1972 he said it was last rode in the late 1970s last started in the late 90s it has just over 14 thousand miles I got it cleaned it up and looked it over it dose have some rust and light pitting on most of the chrome the gas cap was painted wrong handle bars tires in bad shape along with some of the other rubber the paint is faded and there is a few dings also the tachometer glass is cracked and the rings around the gauges are dinged I have a clear title and the #s match I also have ignition key but no fork lock key the motor rolls and the transmission shifts as it should I do not have the time to restore it as I have other projects so I am selling I will work with any buyer on shipping and will ship worldwide if needed let me know what you think and I will do my best to answer any ?s this bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early

    OVERVIEW On auction is my 2015 Triumph Thruxton Ace Special Edition.   Only 325 of these beautiful bikes were made available in the USA and you won't find a nicer example than this one.   I bought the bike in July 2015 and it's been very lightly (and carefully) ridden by a mature owner (only 1194 miles) and lovingly cared for.   The Thruxton has been garaged (under two covers) since new.   Unfortunately, due to my growing family and work commitments, I no longer have the time to ride, so the bike needs to go to a new home. MODIFICATIONS The only modifications that I have made to the Thruxton was to replace the rear fender, rear light and turn signals with a British Customs fender eliminator kit and small bullet turn signals.   The Thruxton's profile is a lot cleaner with the smaller turn signals and stock fender removed.  All work was done by the professionals at Dylan Brothers in Nebraska (before they shipped the bike to me last year).   No other modifications have been made.  Everything else is completely original stock. EXTRAS INCLUDED Owners handbook Warranty and Service Record book (first service stamped in May 2016 by dealer PJ's Triumph in Albuquerque) Certificate of Authenticity stating the bike's Special Edition status 2 sets of keys Thruxton Ace key ring Original stock rear fender, rear light and turn signals + hardware.

If it disturbs you it's wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed".  But is any Triumph single ever capable of producing a sensation of tranquility, even when it is 'right'? Watch: 2011 Speed Triple Dyno run

With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.

Things are coming along nicely in the Speed Triple camp. I’ve finally removed my gaffa tapped heated jacket controls from the tank, and fitted a pair of Bridgestones sticky but durable BT-16’s. Last week a huge box full of R&G crash protection stuff arrived so that will be fitted at the weekend for peace of mind, just as well really because the Triumph now feels like a finely tuned scratcher thanks to a recent new discovery.

Well it was inevitable really, the gloriously sticky and not very durable Metzler Racetec K3's had seen their last mile on the Triumph. After being ripped through 2500 miles by the Speeds thumping 1050 Triple motor the rear had all but squared off. To replace them I’ve opted for Bridgestones new BT-16 Pro's because their previous incarnation had proved to offer supersport grip in the corners but also offer high mileage rates.

It has a new frame, new suspension, new swingarm, wheels, bodywork, tank, new clocks, new headlights, in fact pretty much everything is new, everything except the engine that is!
